ALUMINIUM - World Trade Fair and Conference’s Post

On April 25, the EU Parliament officially approved the "Net Zero Industry Act" to boost the production of decarbonization technologies within the EU, to ensure that Europe produces 40% of the CO2-free technologies necessary to meet climate goals by 2030. 🤝🌍🌱 The Net Zero Industry Act mandates that the EU's annual manufacturing capacity for net-zero technologies should cover at least 15% of global demand. Supported technologies include renewable energy, nuclear energy, industrial decarbonisation, grid technologies, energy storage, and biotechnology. 🤝🌱 The Net Zero Industry Act represents a significant step toward a more sustainable and self-reliant European industry. With the planned measures to promote CO2-free technologies and simplify authorization procedures, the EU will further solidify its position as a global leader in sustainable energy policy. New opportunities are emerging for the aluminium industry, but challenges remain that need to be addressed in collaboration with the EU. 👉 Learn more about the impacts on the aluminium industry: https://lnkd.in/ehFyYQes #aluminium #NetZeroIndustryAct #NetZeroTechnologies #transformation #energy #decarbonisation #europe
