Alternit One sponsored the With Intelligence HFM Global European Operational Leaders Summit 2023 The HFM European Operational Leaders Summit took place from the 27th - 28th of September this year in London and Alternit One (A1) was in attendance. It was ‘the’ event for the European hedge fund sector to connect, share insights and debate the direction of the industry, and A1 were delighted to be part of the conversation. Women’s COO Breakfast: Our Founding Partner, Carrie Whamond, was in conversation at the Women’s Club Breakfast Workshop entitled ‘Building your skillset: Tales from a Chambers CEO’. In this invite-only session, Carrie spoke to Catherine Calder, Joint Chief Executive of Serjeants' Inn Chambers’, about the skillset she’s built up over nearly 30 years of legal experience in-house, in private practice and at the Bar in a traditionally male-dominated environment. The Case for Diversity When It Comes to Tech Talent McKinsey&Co shared in 2021 that: - There were 14 per cent fewer women in entry-level engineering or product positions - There were 15 per cent fewer in first-level manager positions Shaping The Future At A1, working towards creating a diverse team and empowering women to grow within the world of technology is instrumental to our business strategy and culture. Like the legal sector, technology has long been a traditionally male-dominated industry. We all took some incredible insights from Catherine’s success story and uncovered the importance of transferable skills that complement hedge and other regulated industries as we learn across verticals.
