We are delighted to announce the launch of our AH car scheme for Head office, Scarva and Gilford. As Alternative Heat Ltd continues its growth, we recognise that employee commutes are the largest contributor to our carbon footprint, accounting for 32% of our scope emissions. To address this, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and advancing our sustainability goals. Our car share scheme aims to go a step further in that we are financially incentivising both drivers and passengers participating under the AH car share scheme. Other benefits include supporting our corporate social responsibility initiatives and reducing CO2 emissions. It fosters new friendships and supports employee recruitment and retention. Additionally, car sharing promotes collaboration, mental wellness, and safer driving. Wellness Week 24th- 30th June The Alternative Heat Ltd's Social Committee organised a week of activities focused on Physical Health, Mental Health and Nutrition for all staff members. We offered Indian head massages, an introduction to a local Gym, Pilates and Yoga sessions, a physio talk and a nutrition session from The Lean Supper Club. The Wellness Week was very worthwhile and well received, and helped to highlight the importance of engaging in activities and life-style choices outside of work that help to promote physical and mental well-being. #wellbeing #physicalhealth #mentalhealth #nutrition

On the back of our recent Highland Council Biomass Service & Maintenance Contract award we have continued to invest within the Highland Region, these vehicles were acquired from Arnold Clarke, Inverness and we are delighted to be able to support local businesses throughout the delivery of this contract. As we enter our 5th year in Frankfurt, one of our 3 key Data Centre hubs in mainland Europe, our new Frankfurt offices represent the next step in our planned expansion within this region, as we continue to strengthen our teams for current and upcoming projects over the next 5years. Three months into his new role as a Service and Maintenance Accounts Administrator we catch up with Oisin to see how his first few months have went… How was your initial interview? The interview lasted no more than an hour and you were made to feel at ease from the minute you walked through the front doors, partly due to the amazing welcome the reception team gives. Throughout the interview all questions were relevant and targeted to the role which allowed me to display my ability to do the role in the best light possible. It was an overall great experience, and one which any future employee should embrace and look forward to. What attracted you to AH? It was Alternative Heats reputation in the renewables industry and for being a leading employer in NI. The more I learnt about the company, particularly surrounding the benefits package and career prospects, I knew it was the place I wanted to continue my career in – the company puts people first. What do you enjoy most about working here? From day one, working at Alternative Heat has been great, from the high spec office and facilities to the support and mentoring on offer, it is hard not to enjoy working for the company. What I enjoy most is the people and team culture, everyone is extremely welcoming and they make you feel part of the team from the moment I walked through the door. We spoke with his colleague Joanne who works closely with Oisin who said: “Oisin has settled in really well and has become an integral part of the team. He is very eager to help and learn, the questions he asks show that he has an understanding of what he is being shown but wants to have a deeper knowledge. He has taken on a variety of tasks from Conor, Andrea and myself and he communicates well with everyone.
