A valuable year for ALTANA AG! As discussed in our Annual Press Conference today: 2023 was a year of challenges, but also one in which we courageously seized opportunities. We made strategic acquisitions, further expanded our research and development, invested heavily in sites and pushed ahead with digitalization. In taking these steps, we have set the course for the future. Predicting the future accurately is becoming increasingly challenging in the face of persistently volatile conditions. But one thing is certain: We also have a well-filled innovation pipeline for 2024 and are continuing to invest heavily in research & development. This is made possible by our financial and innovative strength. I am certain that all these efforts and investments in forward-looking solutions will continue to create value - for our customers, employees, our owner and society as a whole. After all, the major challenges of our time - above all climate protection - require all of our solution expertise. The basis for our innovations is first and foremost the people who work for us – one out of six employees work in research and development.
