There's a lot to be said for perfect packages of software running on dedicated hardware. Take Macs, which unlike PCs (and their endless driver issues and incompatibities), have always been packaged as hyper-optimized unions of hardware and software. You can't add your own components and you can't (officially) run MacOS on non-Apple hardware because if you could, that assured compatibility and optimization would go out the window. The pocket-sized AI device #RabbitR1 is another great new example of software and hardware delivered as a single package. The jury's out on how useful it'll actually be, but I commend Rabbit for trying to do something new. And at the very non-pocket-sized end of the spectrum you have the #MillenniumM1, a new supercomputing behemoth from Cadence Design Systems. Dedicated #HPC hardware, optimized to run some very smart, very complex multiphysics simulation software indeed. Good things come in neat HW/SW packages.
Big, big news! Cadence Design Systems has announced the Cadence Millennium M1: a game-changer for OEMs in automotive, aerospace, and turbo machinery design that leverages GPU and CPU computing and proprietary software algorithms to deliver up to 100X design impact through accuracy, speed, and scale. The #MillenniumM1 is available today for early adopters. For more information, please visit:https://lnkd.in/gqsjdUXr

The NVIDIA #Omniverse - What is it and why is it important? The NVIDIA Omniverse is a master environment where you can #visualize and #connect existing systems which your company uses to run and operate the #shopfloor like Siemens Tecnomatix GmbH or Ansys digitally (for #simulations). What we currently see in the market is that automotive and manufacturing customers are starting to implement their own Omniverse environments. Here are our top 5 use cases and the values they provide: Plant Design & Simulation - modify your existing factories (Brownfield) or create new factories (Greenfield) to increase capacity, increase automation or launch new products (~30% reduction of time for changes in model production) Product Development & Optimization - reducing the design & planning cycles through simulation and improved B2B collaboration (by ~20%) Production Optimization: resolve potential bottle necks, optimize use of critical resources and improve quality (reduction of scrap by ~25%, reduce flexible costs by 20%) Shopfloor Transparency & Control - optimize root cause identification and improve decision-making (reduction of time to solution by ~20%) Human Factors - increase workforce inclusion, performance, quality and safety by conducting virtual HSSE assessments & virtual trainings. What is your favorite use case and why? By the way - the picture is not modern art but created by KI - Thank you DALL-E #SmartFactory, #Innovation, #ThoughtLeadership, #ValueCreation Volodymyr Semenyshyn, Timo Kistner, Karsten Tramborg, Susann Seyfried, Heiko Boehm, Uwe Wieland, Taras Bachynskyi, Dr. Sabine Mavin, Shaun Greene, Serge Haziyev, Axel Dittmann, Stefanie Grois, Christian Burdea, Ildiyar Omar, Carlo Ruiz, Linda Malm, Ross Verrall (He/Him), Dmitriy Ivanov

Ansys, a leading engineering simulation software company, has recently announced its collaboration with Nvidia Omniverse to revolutionize the visualization capabilities of its physics solver for 3D IC designers. This partnership aims to provide real-time and accurate visualizations of electromagnetic and thermal package effects for 3D IC designs in cutting-edge technologies such as 5G/6G, Internet of Things , artificial intelligence /machine learning , cloud computing, and autonomous vehicles. The shift towards 3D vertically stacked chips has significantly reduced the form factor of electronic devices. However, this design approach poses challenges related to electromagnetic interference and thermal stress effects. Understanding and tracing the origins of these complex issues have become more critical than ever. To address these challenges and enable more advanced applications, the integration of 3D multiphysics visualization has become a necessity for effective design and diagnostics. #electricalengineering #electronics #embedded #embeddedsystems #electrical #computerchips Follow us on LinkedIn to get daily news: HardwareBee - Electronic News and Vendor Directory

2.5-minute case study highlights video on how NVIDIA successfully evaluated a methodology for completing clock domain crossing sign-off by linking CDC static sign-off & simulation. Real Intent Meridian CDC and Meridian CDC’s Simportal feature were deployed. Krithivas Krishnaswami, Sr. CAD engineer at NVIDIA, presents. His highlights video focuses on these topics: 1. In addition to Nvidia verifying their design is bug free, they also verify they are testing it under the correct conditions to avoid design errors and mismatches in constraint assumptions. 2. CDC Verification workflow: Use Real Intent Meridian CDC for static sign-off while enabling the Simportal feature in the same run to automatically create an assertion checkers file. Nvidia plugs the generated file into their simulation environment to cross verify specific protocols & assumptions from CDC static sign-off. - Protocol examples: Data paths -- data stability checker at the data crossing to confirm that the transmit data is stable long enough to be captured on the receive side. Control crossings -- metastability injection checks, pulse width checks, & gray code checks. - Nvidia also uses Simportal’s “Intent checks” to cross verify the CDC and design constraint assumptions during simulation. 3. An example of an error uncovered during this methodology evaluation. 4. This methodology helped Nvidia drive collaboration between two different verification teams -- CDC static sign-off and dynamic functional verification (simulation). In my first comment below, I link to the more detailed case study.
