We started a short series called “Being Scene” to amplify the voices of crew within the industry who have dealt with or are still dealing with mental health challenges in some capacity. I think it’s so important to tell these stories because we talk a lot about what psychological health and safety looks like in the workplace but we sometimes forget to take into account the humanity of the workers who are in need of these supports, and who ultimately need to see these changes so that they can thrive. Change needs to be implemented from the top but we need to listen to the experiences of those below to create the best solutions for the people who push our industry forward. Without them we would not have an industry at all! Our people are our best asset. Let’s hear it from them what they need.
