What progress have you made so far this year? I don’t say this to be judgy. No! I say this to encourage you to pause to notice that in the past six months things have shifted. Last week, as part of my championing Sustainable Ambition, I held my quarterly review check-in session. I love the learning I get from this activity both for myself in looking back and in hearing what pausing to check-in does for others. In just 60 minutes, we can shift how we're feeling, write our own narrative about what’s transpired, and be intentional about how we want to shape the quarter ahead. Plus, we’re able to celebrate the progress we’ve made. I believe an important part of making our pursuits sustainable is to make them personally meaningful and motivating to us. Seems reasonable, right? And according to research, making progress on meaningful work that matters to us personally is one of our top motivators around our work. As you pause at this mid-point of the year, where do you want to honor and celebrate the work you’ve put in and the progress made? Share with us below!

Together with Peter Orell and Clarissa Arend we developed the Direction Indicator for Sustainable Communities in 2013 while we were doing our Master of Science in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability. The challenges we face today can be surmounted using the Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development (FSSD). Over 10 years since I graduated from MSLS and today I am talking about the sustainability principles and the FSSD in my conversations with people all over the planet. https://lnkd.in/gdXWr8re

In a world where instant wins and shortcuts are celebrated, I am making steady organic development. Building something durable necessitates a continual commitment to a process. If it means putting in the ongoing effort required to lay the groundwork for long-term sustainability, so be it. Even when it pains, it appears like others are getting there faster and easier than me. I shall stick to my long-term game plan.
