Magnetic grippers for cylindrical cells 🔋 The gripping of cylindrical cells during the production of electric vehicles represents a particular challenge. The cylindrical cells must be consolidated as closely as possible, to enable optimal use of the limited space in the vehicle. This is only possible when the gripper is located in the shadow of the battery. With a focus on modular thinking, we enabled our battery cell gripper to be optimally adapted to such respective process. This process-relevant design was implemented and combined with.. ✅ a holding force of 50 N, which ensures that the cylindrical cells are held securely, even at the highest accelerations and during an emergency stop. ✅a low residual holding force under 1 N, for technical cleanliness and a reliable depositing when the magnets are deactivated. ✅ combined with piston position sensing as well as battery presence sensing. ✅ axis compensators and centering plates to compensate cell misalignments. Magnetic grippers for cylindrical battery cells🔋 During the production of electric vehicles, gripping cylindrical battery cells is a challenging process. The battery cells must be consolidated as closely as possible to enable optimal use of the limited space in the vehicle, and the gripper needs to grip within the confines of the specific profile of the battery. With a focus on modular thinking, we optimized our battery cell gripper to adapt to such a rigorous process.
