We are thrilled to announce that Allegion has been honored with two 2024 SEAL Awards for our environmental initiatives! We’re proud of our winning projects, both of which were in U.S. facilities: A logistics reconfiguration at our distribution center in Kansas that reduced shipping containers by up to 55% and a glass recycling initiative in Washington that will divert about 280,000 pounds of scrap glass from the landfill annually. These projects reflect our commitment to responsible environmental practices and our dedication to driving sustainability. We are grateful for the collaborative efforts of our teams. Let's continue making a positive impact together! To learn more, visit: https://lnkd.in/gBDH-6ek

Continuing our journey through Vera's core values, we spotlight a principle that's both a commitment and a mindset: Sustainability. At Vera, Sustainability is twofold – we're dedicated to nurturing our planet and ensuring the longevity of our impact in the social sector. It's about crafting solutions with the future in mind, being mindful of our environmental footprint, and empowering our projects to thrive long-term. Adalto Silva, a Project Manager and member of our Green Team, exemplifies this commitment. Through initiatives like e-waste recycling competitions and sustainability reporting, the Green Team leads our charge towards a more conscious future. "Initiatives like the Green Team show that we take the value of Sustainability seriously. The Green team acts as the leaders of internal change towards sustainability with its formal initiatives like creating a company-wide e-waste recycling competition, piloting a sustainability report for one of the hub offices, and increasing environmental education through channels like the Vera-wide weekly newsletter." #Sustainability #TechForGood #VeraValues

The world of business is at the beginning of a massive circular transformation journey where we are moving away from ’take-make-dispose’ modus operandi while moving into circular and regenerative business design principles. We founded Stena Circular Consulting (SCC) to further support our existing - as well as new - customers along this journey; all the way from envisioning a potential and profitable future to provide guidance in steadfast actions. Over the past two years, we have not only been able to support our customers through our 80 years experience in Recycling (which is part of it), but also - through SCC - been able to enlarge the circular space we help our customers within. Read more about some of these customer cases (link in comments) - or simply join us and SCC during our upcoming event ‘Circular Initiative’ in Stockholm November 14 where we put our customers and partners on stage to tell us all about their learnings! #designforcircularity #bytvärld #circularinitiative

Insightful discussions this week at the Sustainable Packaging Summit in Amsterdam My key takeaways from the panel this morning on EU regulation - PPWR - PPWR is more than a regulation - It is a game changer necessary for Climate change - it gives a courageous and bold framework and set of harmonized and unified guidelines to comply across countries - it will help industries and value chain to accelerate packaging circularity (reduce, design for recycling, bring recycling at scale and keep materials in circulation again and again) - guidelines should not be static and prohibitive but an encouragement to the value chain and stakeholders - they should be backed with scientific claims - recyclability at scale requires also a step change in infrastructure investment across all member states At Avery Dennison we are fully committed and we stand behind PPWR as we see this as a unique opportunity to innovate for the future and collaborate across the value chain to solve some of the most complex problems to make packaging circular Thank you to the panelists for their open and transparent debate Alena Maran, @wolfgand trunk, Feliks Bezati, Francesca Siciliano Stevens, Bruno Van Gompel, Tahmid Chowdhury (he/him),Sophia Chrysopoulou Emilie Bartolini Pascale Wautelet Monica Gross Nataliya Malhanova Noam S.
