🔔 Call to Action for Nevada folks! 🔔 (scroll to bottom) Nevada BOP is stepping up BIG TIME and taking action on the results of the survey they conducted! 👏🏽 I believe this is the first concrete proposal in the nation for safe staffing requirements in community pharmacy. Take a look: https://lnkd.in/gsVcjuBC What are your thoughts on their safe staffing levels, and why? While we may all have varying opinions on what constitutes a safe staffing level, the fact that this draft has been set forth is a monumental win for communities and their pharmacies. This proposal was not made blindly by corporate executives, this was in direct relation to responses from Nevada pharmacists working on the ground right now. ACTION: If you are in Nevada, please attend the BOP meeting on 5/29 to make a public comment (they typically give you 2 minutes). Whether it is in support or to suggest an amendment, **showing up is the only way we get to solutions.** We are the change we’ve been waiting for. Don’t just yell from the stands. Get in the arena. We’ll be right beside you. #TogetheRx #ThePharmacyGuild #SafeStaffingNow #Pharmacists #CommunityPharmacy #PizzaIsNotWorking
Tiny but mighty: About last year, I had the pleasure of meeting with a member of the Nevada Pharmacy Alliance . We discussed the somber realization that the well being index for pharmacy professionals from American Pharmacists Association and National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations revealed that Nevada was amongst the very bottom states. So in our discussion, I proposed a survey; gathering data about the pharmacists and letting that data tell a story and hopefully bring changes. Fast forward this year, this pharmacy association ( which is novice by the way), in collaboration with their board of pharmacy have done something spectacular and truly impressive. While those proposed changes will definitely be challenged and will need some major compromises, this is an association and a board that is listening to the despair of their pharmacists. And no, this association does not have nearly enough chain memberships as it should and if you are in Nevada, this is your moment to step in. But I have said this before…. while I can absolutely and will always advocate for memberships and stress the importance of it, I can also show that there are associations out there, that are doing what they can to advocate for all pharmacists in their state regardless of their membership. It is doable in more ways that you can imagine if you are willing. Yes it sounds harsh. It sounds mean. It is not meant to be. But it is the truth that in many states, community chain pharmacists do not get supported by their state association. Please ponder on that. If you are in Nevada, Please make that you submit your public comments before May 29th. Bravo Nevada! https://lnkd.in/g7hUKQJ6

This report has a fitting title: Under Stress and Duress
We recently engaged with pharmacy professionals across Ontario to learn more about their experience with corporate influence and pressures. A full analysis of the findings has now been published at https://bit.ly/4crG0ze The College has zero-tolerance for business practices that compromise the ability of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to deliver safe and effective care to their patients. Out of unimaginable grief, a father stands in front of a board to talk about his daughter, and advocate for our profession. We cannot let him down. Indiana, come show out!! Comment or DM to find out how. #PizzaIsNotWorking #Pharmacists #PharmacyTechnicians #Advocacy #CommunityPharmacy
Dear Mr Anderson, My family and I watched your presentation to the Indiana Board of Pharmacy. My husband who is not a pharmacist kept saying : “ he has done his homework “ and indeed you had. Today, I did not just witness the heart of a father, trying to carry the legacy of this daughter. I also ,witnessed a warrior, a pharmacy advocate who has gained more knowledge about the deplorable conditions within some of our chain pharmacies and the impact on the public and our practitioners. Today, I witnessed someone who has spent extensive time, researching and researching laws and practices and everything in between. When you handed that massive document, my heart bursted with so much pride and I knew automatically that the board was in for a treat. It was hard to hold my tears because from your pain, came a love for the profession your daughter loved so much. We as a profession, owe you a length of gratitude for this and everything you have set yourself to do. I urge all Indiana Pharmacists, to come alongside this man, by joining the association or reaching out to your legislators in order to demand changes to your bylaws. You have heard what your board has said. No changes in terms of legislation would come from them because that’s the process. However your association alongside your state regulators, can help bring positive changes. I also want to ask American Pharmacists Association to land its help and contacts in this matter. Please Indiana Pharmacists , do not fold your hands here. You can’t afford to. And you should not. Here in the link to Mr Anderson presentation. Start at the 2 hour Mark.
