Exciting developments in chemotherapy devices! A new device can adjust drug doses in real-time, reducing toxicity while effectively targeting tumors. This shift from in vitro to in vivo diagnostics is reminiscent of continuous glucose monitoring and hints at a future where continuous wearable devices play a key role in healthcare. However, modern LIMS aren't fully equipped for this transition. The challenge lies in integrating real-time data to ensure accurate drug dosing—a responsibility that falls on the device manufacturers. Could we see a LIMS specifically for continuous diagnostic devices soon?
𝗔 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆. That is the second significant case of turning in vitro diagnostics into in vivo (the first was continuous glucose measurement). It seems that there will be many more. We'll come to a world where we are not monitoring tests but dealing with a continuous wearable device. Modern LIMS are not fully prepared for this. The data from the device in the described case is supposed to be used to calculate the drug dose, and this implies a very high responsibility: we have to apply online calibration. That is the responsibility of the producer who made the device, unlike laboratories with their independent control. It would be good to come up with something like LIMS for wearable continuous diagnostic devices - https://lnkd.in/ej5ZjS78 #MedicalTechnology #Chemotherapy #DrugDeliverySystems #CancerTreatment #MITresearch ##VivicaLIMS #LifeDataLab https://about.vivica.us https://lifedl.net

Professor Carol Greider, a renowned scientist who has dedicated over 30 years to studying telomeres and was awarded the #NobelPrize in 2009, has made a groundbreaking discovery in her new research. The study reveals that instead of a uniform telomere length across all chromosomes, each chromosome has its own unique telomere-length distribution. This challenges our current understanding of the molecular processes regulating telomere lengths and opens up new avenues in aging research. This discovery was made possible through innovative data analysis techniques. Imagine the potential if we applied such perseverance and advanced analytics to other areas of health informatics, like #LIMS development. The possibilities for breakthroughs are endless! #Science #Research #Innovation #HealthInformatics #AgingResearch
This article - https://lnkd.in/d-i7PkEz is about 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲. We taught students about telomerase, but now the theme has a new twist. Professor Carol Greider, who has been studying telomeres for more than 30 years and, along with two colleagues, won the #Nobel Prize for it in 2009, did new research and found something ground-breaking: “Instead of telomere lengths falling under one general range of shortest to longest across all chromosomes, this study finds that different chromosomes have separate end-specific telomere-length distributions. According to Greider, this discovery means we don’t fully understand the molecular process that regulates telomere lengths. Therefore, we are to learn something more about aging. The discovery is driven by the change in the way of data analysis. It would be great to apply such perseverance to other health informatics, namely #LIMS development. Thus, we can get new possibilities which were not available before. #WorldEconomy #GlobalMarket #BusinessTrends #EconomicOutlook #MarketAnalysis #IndustryInsights #FinancialForecast #MarketResearch #TradeTrends #EconomicDevelopment #BusinessStrategy #MarketTrends #IndustryAnalysis #GlobalEconomy #MarketStrategy #VivicaLIMS #LifeDataLab https://about.vivica.us https://lifedl.net
