Test and learn! Will be really interesting to see how this pilot by Loblaw Companies Limited plays out but the concept is based on a clear insight around the shopper's current quest for value, as many shoppers look to get the most out of tight household disposable budgets. The question will be how much are shoppers prepared to give up on and if enough of them are prepared to do it. Thanks for sharing Per Bank and best of luck with this pilot. It's challenging to be a retail tenant these days... Vacancy is at 7.9% across #northwestarkansas and it's much lower than that in the "prime retail" pockets - West Bentonville, West Rogers/Pinnacle, and North Fayetteville. If a business needs a drive-thru, there's going to be multiple offers to lease the same space and the owner will be juggling lots of different variables in evaluating which is the right deal. We recently helped a national restaurant tenant secure a drive-thru space when they were up against 5 other offers in Bentonville. I was saving my yearly LinkedIn post for my 3 year anniversary in a few weeks, but today’s launch of Brooklyn Storehouse is a far more exciting milestone (first iconic, stateside partnership- watch this space!). Joining Vibration Production in 2021 at the tail end of the pandemic seemed like a crazy risk to anyone looking in at the time (and many told me as much!). Having forged my career in the comfort of big international corporates, moving into event production, heading up a finance function and being tasked with a complete overhaul/creation/imbedding of all processes and a commercially driven team was a big move away from my comfort zone but little did I know, it was going to be much more than that original job description. Best. Move. Of. My. Life. Hi, We would like to comment on our situation given this recent post we’ve seen regarding the retail chain -Francescas.   We supplied Francescas with product for several years with no financial issues. However since late Fall 2023 we haven’t been paid for much of the stock we shipped despite making multiple inquiries with the company and their promises to pay us.    We are owed a six figure sum.   We filed a lawsuit in Texas against Francesca’s Administrative Management, Inc., which it did not respond to, and the court entered a default judgment against that entity. Despite that, the company continues to ignore our requests for payment – and now we are forced to incur more legal expenses to try to enforce the judgment.   Its just not right or fair that they have received our stock and have not paid for it but they continue to open new stores and recruit senior members of staff. Craft cocktails, mountain bikes and art: Walmart's hometown is booming, and getting more expensive. Walmart's hometown of Bentonville, Arkansas, is growing rapidly — with many amenities, and higher prices, that people might expect in a bigger city. The town has more cranes per capita than any other U.S. city, according to Cushman & Wakefield/Sage Partners, and prices are rising for longtime residents as it expands. I learned so much throughout the process of opening my Ann Arbor store – from site selection up to unlocking the doors. While the experience was fresh in my mind, I sent the below thoughts to our franchisees.    In no particular order:   1) It is not, and will never be, a seamless stress-free process. Things will go wrong nearly every single day. Construction issues. Permitting issues. Vendor issues. You name it. Know this going in. View your role as a relentless problem solver. Of course, we will continue to refine our support structure to make these issues as small as possible. But they’ll never be zero. I don’t say this to scare anyone – simply to manage expectations. If you expect everything to be perfect, you will find yourself in a cycle of disappointment and frustration. 2) Related, you will be very well supported by the MSF team. The amount of knowledge in the system can answer literally any question that could possibly come up. You are not alone. I cannot say enough good things about our entire team. We’re so fortunate. Truly. 3) Trust the system and process. It works. The team spent a decade obsessing over every tiny detail. Being “in it” will give you a greater appreciation for how much thought went into everything. 4) You will go as far as your team. If you have a great team this is a wonderful business. If you don’t it’s not. Care about them as human beings. The culture of your store is everything. It has a direct impact on your customers and ultimately your bottom line. 5) Related to number 1, the final few weeks before opening are extremely time consuming. As will the time immediately after opening. My “office” has been my store and will continue to be. I hired an experienced GM, and I’m still spending a tremendous amount of time in the store. There is no alternative. Plan accordingly. 6) Ultimately, it is YOUR business, so adopting a mindset of accountability is critical. At the end of the day, everything is your responsibility. 7) I did many tasks that arguably were not a good use of my time, but they needed done so I did them. Early mornings. Late nights. Weekends. Whatever it takes. See number 5. 8) Creating goodwill in the community is huge. So many people were excited for us to open yesterday. Lean into this. Make friends with everyone. Giving out free chocolate goes a long way. 😊 It is YOUR store, not some nameless faceless franchise. 9) Utilize all the training resources available to learn the details of the business – you need to know your store inside and out. Then teach others with confidence. 10) YOU set the tone for your store on what’s acceptable. If you allow your store to be dirty, it will be. If you don’t set a standard for how the products should look, they will be substandard. Expectation setting is about teaching and holding your team accountable to standards.
