On the surface the acquisition looks like a good fit, the market also thinks so. However looking back in time Echo Bay wrote off $77M on the Magino project. Let’s hope all of the wrinkles have been ironed out!

Great move for Alamos. It will be interesting to see what will happen to the Mexican assets. Argonaut had already indicated it's interest in selling some of its Mexican assets due to inability to obtain permits. Mulatos has been the source of 2Moz for Alamos over a 20year period. Will there be a spinco for these assets post merger? It would make sense as the company moves toward becoming a giant.
