November 17th, 2023, I would like to share a great experience at FAAS -Forum on Automotive Aftermarket Sustainability Day event by Autopromotec in BolognaFiere Group. Thanks to Mr. Hans Kröder's opening speech, I had an opportunity to reconsider the most interesting challenges in contemporary business. Interestingly, the key point in manufacturing when considering cost benefits, not only in the automotive industry but also in other industries, is the importance of production and distribution. However, We need to prioritize innovation and put all our efforts into restoring clean production and conditions and creating different values creation to achieve environmental challenges as SDGs goals of the United Nations. In other words, we can predict an increase in demand for advanced machines with features such as high traceability in manufacturing and remanufacturing. Aspen Aerogel invests 270 M dollars in opening two manufacturing plants in Apodaca (Nuevo León – Monterrey). U.S. company Aspen Aerogels, which assembles electric car batteries, has opened a two plant manufacturing complex in Apodaca. The 270 million dollars investment project contributes to the positioning of the state as an electromobility hub and the creation of a thousand new jobs. The two Aspen Aerogels plants are located in the municipality of Apodaca and were promoted by its strategic partner Prodensa. The first plant begins the conversion process of the aerogel rolls and the second plant is where the assembly of the final product will be completed, which is an encapsulation of the aerogel that they send to their clients. Process optimization secures short delivery times at ISOPLUS With the continued boom in the district energy sector, the growing quality requirements and a lack of skilled workers, ISOPLUS in Germany has taken an innovative step, and established a robot cell with two welding robots in cooperation with Heller Maschinen & Technologie. The large state-of-the-art system, that was commissioned in the summer of 2023, can process pipe bends weighing up to a ton, base pipes in dimensions from DN300 to DN1000 and material thicknesses up to 17.5 mm. Apart from enhanced quality and easing of workload on the employees, ISOPLUS can shorten the throughput time for each order significantly with this new unique system where the retooling to a different pipe dimension is done more or less at the push of a button. To achieve our industry leading 100% sustainability by 2050, Hankook need to replace around 65% of the materials we are using in our tyres today. We need to pass four tests with each replacement material : 1, It must be 100% sustainable 2, It must deliver the same or better tyre performance - we cannot compromise on tyre performance. 3, It must be available in sufficient volumes for the production needs of Hankook 4, It must be economically viable We are working hard with our materials science teams and the ISCC (See below) to deliver on our Sustainability and Carbon neutrality targets. Congratulations to our teams who worked on these outstanding technologies! 👉 Those from HELLA Gutmann Solutions, who succeeded in automating one of the most common activities in automotive workshops: fault diagnostic. As a result, it can increase the overall efficiency of vehicle repairs. 👉 Those from MATERI'ACT who have worked hard over the years to develop the NAFILean family. The latest addition, NAFILean-R, combines a 20% natural hemp fibers content with a low-CO2 polypropylene matrix that is 70% recycled. 👉 And finally our teams working on hydrogen storage solutions who have designed the XL Tank which can store over 20kg of gaseous hydrogen under 700bars pressure.
