Delighted that a newly updated, automated production line is up and running at our Suzhou site in China. Part of a €14 million investment, the recent upgrade will help us double the plant’s capacity for marine and protective coatings by 2025 and meet the country’s growing demand for high-performance antifoulings and wind power solutions. Already boosting daily capacity by more than 40%, this initial upgrade will be followed by further updates to double overall capacity before the end of next year. Other planned site improvements include a transition to using 100% renewable electricity by 2025, which will contribute to the company’s ambition of halving carbon emissions across the full value chain by 2030. Because our search for better never stops. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/emWNVtuD #AkzoNobel #PaintTheFuture #MarineProtectiveandYatch

Great to see the Suzhou site in such good shape & now with a few neighbours. It's been 15 years since we designed & built this facility back in 2009. We certainly had visions of expansion in mind at that time - nice to hear that this has finally occurred.

I walked past the set up for ground breaking ceremony in Suzhou last week.. an exciting development for the business and a step change by adding our highly differentiated range to local manufacturing footprint
