We recently held our annual employee appreciation company retreat: Camp AKS! There are many reasons why we choose to step away from our desks and out of the field for a weekend, but these are the top 3: 🏠 Connection and Community: With 7 offices across Oregon and Washington, this is the only time of year we are gathered as a company. At Camp, we meet in person instead of over email or video chat. 📖 Learning Opportunities: Before play comes work! While we do have fun in the evening, a large portion of the day is spent in sessions. Everyone benefited from a variety of talks, provided by different members of our talented team. 🤲 Encouraging Collaboration: Camp AKS is an opportunity for collaborative, productive conversation between leadership and the rest of the company. Today is World Hydrography Day! 🌊 Hydrographic surveying involves measuring and mapping underwater features. Our fleet of vessels remains mobilized with high-resolution sonars and high-accuracy positioning and orientation systems to meet a wide range of applications, including supporting dredging operations, facilitating site characterization, investigating submerged hazards and debris, and measuring general bottom conditions. This critical work helps ensure safe navigation, benefits engineering, and design and supports marine construction.
