Our exciting pilot project with Rhenus Logistics: Successes & Next Steps The results from our project have exceeded expectations, meaning that we took the right approach to our robot development process. As can be seen in a previous post, Starnus and Rhenus Logistics set the grounds for an exciting strategic partnership aiming to revolutionize the intralogistics industry. Here’s a snapshot of our pilot’s achievements: ✅ Our GPL robot, Alpha 1, has been successfully deployed at the Rhenus warehouse, located in Tilburg! We set the foundations for further robotics deployment at a scale, addressing the worldwide labour shortage, and increased operational efficiency, by streamlining processes and providing real-time insights. But we’re not stopping there! What’s next? 🎯 We are motivated to continue reshaping the intralogistics industry. As a result of this trend, more and more robotics are being used in logistics - starting with the big players in the industry. However, it is only a matter of time before smaller and smaller companies also start to rely on robotics in this area. UPS Velocity in numbers: 🤖 700 bots The facility already uses more than 700 bots and will expand by a further 2,500 worldwide by 2024. Bots bring inventory to employees and use AI to arrange inventory for faster processing. 👀 350,000 items per day With a skilled team, we can process over 350,000 shipments per day in the UPS Velocity facility - making it one of the most efficient package processing facilities in the world. 🏢 30 % more usable space New technologies make the best use of space. Optimisation of storage in the system by 30 %.
