Improving child survival requires a comprehensive approach that addresses multiple factors affecting children's health and well-being. It is notable that Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF), encompassing both breastfeeding (BF) and complementary feeding (CF), has the most significant impact on child mortality among preventive interventions, accounting for 13% for breastfeeding and 6% for complementary feeding, totaling 19%. In India, approximately 19% of deaths among children under five can be prevented by optimizing Infant and Young Child Feeding practices.
