Quality standdowns that began within Boeing Commercial Airplanes are also extending across the OEM’s Global Services (BGS) segment, commented Dan Abraham, BGS VP-Commercial Sales and Marketing, at Aviation Week Network’s MRO Americas conference. “Whether that’s in our MRO facilities or in our digital software development teams, we’re doing an enterprise refocus on safety across the entire enterprise. We’re stopping, we’re pausing, we’re asking questions, we’re meeting with employees, we’re looking at what we’re doing every day and how we do it, so we can get better." #digitaltransformation #safetyfirst #aviation #airlineindustry #MROAM #AviationWeek

PRESS RELEASE - OEMServices and Emirates extend their agreement for the support of the A380 fleet After 15 years of cooperation, OEMServices and Emirates have extended their agreement for the component support of the airline’s A380 fleet. OEMServices, as a key MRO supplier, has been chosen by Emirates, the world’s largest A380 operator to provide the ongoing component support for the airline’s A380 platform including the supply of spare parts, repair services and engineering support. Didier Granger, President and CEO of OEMServices, declared, “Being reselected by a customer such as Emirates is a great pride for OEMServices. The A380 has always been and will remain strategic for OEMServices and in this perspective to keep on supporting the key operator of this fleet is essential. During these past years of support, OEMServices has aligned its operations to answer the needs of Emirates and from this mutual understanding, we are supporting the complete fleet returning back into service. “ #oemservices #dubaiairshow #emirates #A380 #compoment #MRO

The 50th Airbus a220 was recently produced in Mobile, Alabama, marking a significant milestone for the facility. All A220s assembled in Mobile are currently delivered to U.S. customers, including Delta Air Lines JetBlue and Breeze Airways™. The production rate is in the process of ramping up to four aircraft per month from the current rate of approximately half that. The Alabama site employs around 600 people, and they have managed to find enough trained staff, partly due to the presence of other aviation companies in the state and word-of-mouth recommendations. Airbus Mobile, like many in the aviation industry, faces supply chain challenges that are expected to persist at least until the end of the year and possibly into 2024. To address this, Airbus is maintaining close relationships with its suppliers, even assisting them in improving their plans and processes if necessary. In response to these delays, Airbus emphasizes communication with its customers and shares realistic delivery times, even if it means delivering bad news at times. This approach aligns with the industry trend of manufacturers working closely with operators to manage disruptions and minimize the impact on their businesses.
