5 years later, Sonaca closes the curtain on HLFC Win. If you had to remember few things from this project? ✔ One JEC Composites Innovation award in 2023 ✔ Numerous technologies to be used for next developments : Krueger flap, induction de-icing system,... ✔ And our partners congratulations for the great work This project was achieved with the partnership of German Aerospace Center (DLR) Aernnova Aerospace ONERA - The French Aerospace Lab and Airbus as coordinator. Cleansky2 initiative aims to develop new technologies for a clean, innovative and competitive aviation system. As a reminder, HLFC (Hybrid Laminar Flow Control) technology is designed to maintain the smoothest possible flow along the wing. It offers the potential for significant reductions in specific fuel consumption. The teams developed a ground demonstrator to check the feasibility and integration of all associated HLFC systems. #aerospace #innovation #engineering #industry

Hello there! Only 5 days left until the MACH 2024 exhibition, and we're really looking forward to it! Join us at NEC's hall 18, stand 311 to explore solutions across various industries. Today, we'll present our offerings tailored for the aerospace industry. In the demanding realm of aerospace, structural components must adhere to the most stringent standards. These components serve as the backbone of aircraft and spacecraft, necessitating a delicate balance of low weight and high strength. Continuous advancements in materials science drive the development of lightweight yet incredibly durable structural components. These breakthroughs are pivotal for enhancing the efficiency, performance, and safety of aerospace vehicles. The setup requirements for structural components pose significant challenges, often demanding costly and time-intensive adjustments. Addressing this need for controlled flexibility, our VERO-S Aviation solution dramatically reduces setup times by facilitating efficient unclamping of components. We look forward to discussing how our innovations can meet your aerospace industry needs at the exhibition! thermoplastic composite
📢Connecting the dots...📢 NLR - Netherlands Aerospace Centre! 🏆 This timelapse shows the manufacturing process of the largest known single thermoplastic piece ever made in the world! 🤯 Looking to take a leading role within the MFFD framework and share their expert knowledge of composite materials, Royal NLR, together with collaborators GKN Fokker, Delft University of Technology, and Germany’s Diehl Group have taken on their own project called STUNNING! 😎 Their goal is to demonstrate and validate how the use of composites, namely thermoplastics, can help realize a next-gen fleet of aircraft capable of offering the same strength and durability of steel and aluminum, while drastically reducing the total time of production and maintenance activities, as well as the overall weight of aircraft and the subsequent emissions. 💪 The Clean Sky 2 Multifunctional Fuselage Demonstrator (MFFD) with its 8.5-meter long composite-made fuselage section with 4-meter diameter gives a glimpse of what a next-generation aircraft could be. Now, Royal NLR’s STUNNING project is set to turn heads as the MFFD’s largest component, the 8.5 meters long lower fuselage skin! 🤩 Congratulations to all the teams involved! AMAZING job! 👏 #managingcomposites #thenativelab #thermoplastics #aerospace
