Ever wondered how Air Ambulances differ from land ambulances? 🚁💨 Unlike land ambulances, Air Ambulance crews are equipped with Specialist Paramedics and Critical Care Doctors trained in pre-hospital emergency medicine. They bring the expertise and equipment of a hospital directly to the patient, even performing life-saving surgical interventions on-site. 🏥 #AirAmbulancesUK #didyouknow #EmergencyMedicine

𝐀𝐢𝐫 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬, 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐖𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝? As we celebrate the introduction of the air ambulance service in our country, it's crucial to assess our readiness for handling critical emergencies. While these services are valuable, we must ensure we have the necessary resources, especially trained paramedics, to operate them effectively. Are there enough paramedics to staff both ambulance and air ambulance services? It's vital that these emergency vehicles are manned by qualified personnel to provide immediate medical care, significantly impacting patient outcomes. To ensure the effectiveness of our emergency medical services, we need more than just vehicles; we require expertise in providing onsite critical lifesaving care. Therefore, investing in paramedic training and proper staffing is essential. By addressing these concerns, we can ensure we are equipped to handle emergencies effectively. It's not only about the vehicles but also about having the expertise and resources to provide quality care when needed. #paramedics #emergency #ambulance #helthcare #qualityservice #qualitymanagement

I like to watch shows about other emergency medicine professionals; usually from Australia, UK, Alaska, and I am a big fan of Bondi and Coast rescue..... I am often shocked at the resources we should also have access to and do not here in the US. For example, in this episode they use intranasal morphine to calm the child and give pain relief, then they give nitrous, put in an IV and use stronger pain medicine to set the limb safely. These emergency professionals often have at their fingertips resources like ketamine, O- blood, nitrous oxide, and advanced emergency medicine providers that are trained to do conscious sedation in-field for limb manipulation, airway control, and other injuries, where transporting the patient awake maybe more dangerous for the patient or the transporters. Yet, we in the US have to jump through hoops and stacks of paperwork just to get access to blood products for infield trauma support. We certainly have the best of the best professionals, yet they are often held back by politics and resources availability. Imagine how many more lives could be saved, and how much easier it would be on our emergency rooms, if we could stabilize patients in-field and start necessary treatment without waiting.

🌟 Preventing Cardiac Arrest at Delhi Airport: A Doctor's Quick Thinking Today, at Delhi Airport's Terminal 2, an elderly individual experienced a heart attack. His condition was critical, and he collapsed on the floor. Fortunately, a female doctor present at the scene promptly initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). After approximately 5 minutes of continuous CPR, she successfully revived the individual. This incident has gained attention on social media and serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of preparedness during emergencies. We must remain vigilant during such critical moments and educate the public effectively. Basic Life Support (BLS) training, availability of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), and preparedness for emergency responses are essential. #CardiacArrest #CPR #BLS #AED #EmergencyResponse #PublicSafety

Starting November 8, 2023, Ambulance Communications Officers in the Kenora Central Ambulance Communications Centre (CACC), will adopt the Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS), to improve the deployment of paramedic resources to meet patient needs by matching resources with the clinical situation and prioritizing the most urgent calls to 9-1-1. 🚑 Low-urgency incidents will be dispatched as soon as an appropriate ambulance is available and will receive follow-up call-backs to check on the patient’s status. 🚑 If the patient’s status during the follow-up call requires immediate medical attention, call back 9-1-1 to provide an update on patient condition. 🚑 Both low-urgency incidents and non-emergency transfers will be processed with detailed questions to determine the most appropriate response priority.
