UH | Graduation | LL.M. in Energy Law The last 9 months have been very challenging, difficult but so rewarding and I do not regret having made the choice to study in the US. You can see on my face in the video below how happy I am to have graduated. I would like to warmly thank all my professors for sharing their knowledge and experience with us throughout the LL.M. Today, thanks to: - Prof. Denney Wright, I have a better understanding of the upstream petroleum transaction - Prof. Norman Nadorff, I know how to draft International energy contracts, and that a JOA has similarities with a marriage - Prof Ted Borrego, I learned about Carbon Capture and Sequestration and other alternative energy transaction - Prof Julian Cardenas Garcia, I studied the stabilization clauses, the importance of the petroleum industry practice, and other essential aspects of the transnational petroleum law - Profs. Francisco Rivero, I know how to manage a catastrophe that strikes an international energy project - Sashe Dimitroff, Will Russell, and Stephen Benz I know how to handle an international commercial arbitration procedure. I am also grateful to the University of Houston Law Center for the opportunity I have had to study at one of the world's best universities in energy law. Needless to say that #Mentorship during postdoc is critical in shaping the future. Right mentor, right guidance, right direction, right timing are crucial elements for career development. PIs should consider it as their responsibility before hiring someone, they should introspect and get trained before getting into research business as mentors. Mentoring can do wonders in shaping the future scientists. It remains the least discussed topic in Academia. Behind every CV there is a human with aspirations. #Little things make a huge impact.
