Listen in tomorrow! I’m joining WBUR/NPR’s On Point public affairs program to discuss the impact of remote and hybrid work on younger, entry-level and early-career employees. => How can organizations, leaders, and teammates support their younger colleagues, especially with onboarding and development? => Why is it important to engage younger employees in the process of reimagining how, when, and where we work? => What are the generational differences we uncovered during my firm’s latest study of the employee flexible work experience? => What are the best practices our clients are using to bring generations together regardless of location and schedules? You can listen live on the web tomorrow at 10 a.m. EST https://lnkd.in/gZMBSfC2 Later this week I’ll share a link to the program and transcript. #radio #interview #flexiblework #remotework #hybridwork #entrylevel #youngeremployees #earlycareer #onboarding #development #culture #leadership #managing #workplace

And let's remember, affirmative action and DEI while intertwined are distinct with different goals. #sundaythoughts #DEIAB #affirmativeaction #implementation #shelliherman #executivesearch

I help organizations create sustainable solutions for developing, engaging and activating impactful people leaders.
Three things that brought me joy this week! 1. Connecting people on a shared journey - I had the joy of bringing together friends and family who are bravely stepping into entrepreneurship. Watching them connect, share ideas, and tackle challenges together was incredibly rewarding. There’s something magical about seeing people help each other through change. 2. Discovering My Core Story - I worked on my brand strategy this week with Olivia C.S. Thomas. During our conversation uncovered a core belief that fuels my drive: the power of "we". This principle has shaped my views on employee engagement since my AOL days and continues to influence my belief in collective effort and creating win-win scenarios in organizations, families, and communities. 3. Gaining Leadership Wisdom from Lee Cockerell - Winter Park Institute's speaker series was a highlight, especially hearing Lee Cockerell talk about trust in leadership. He was funny, pragmatic and insightful. Here are the things that resonated with me: - Earning employee trust starts with showing them their worth. This means treating each individual with respect, regardless of their background, making them feel valued, and ensuring they are well-equipped for success. - To inspire people to follow you, be accessible, demonstrate both technical and leadership competence, seek the truth, and streamline processes to remove any hassle. These were the highlights from my week. I'd love to hear one of yours!

Simplifying Job Posting Requirements Provides Results! Cathy Weik, a former Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board chairperson, from Stratis Health, shared that they've changed their approach on job descriptions. They no longer ask for specific degrees, or years of experience. She notes that taking this approach has helped with their goal to hire staff with new perspectives and experiences. Plus, their staff composition went from 1% diverse make-up to 20%! #workforce leadership #workforceinnovations What innovations has your organization made to help with staff recruitment and retention?

It's astounding to see how overwhelmingly positive is for both the companies and employees. Topics in the episode: * How to solve a workplace problem in 5 steps * Less is more: how a 4-day workweek could make you and your company more productive * Why we think working hard makes you a good person * How labor unions shaped America
