Joseph Allen, Associate Professor and Director of the Healthy Buildings program at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, explains why traditional temperature readings fall short in comparison to the WGBT index. With intensifying summer heat waves, it is important to use accurate measures like the wet-bulb globe temperature to protect outdoor workers and vulnerable populations.
