Our special guest star is Michael Kascsak, former Head of Software Engineering Sourcing, North America at Google
Michael has been a recruiter for more than 20 years, connecting professionals with leading companies like Bank of AmericaCapital OneCBRE, and most recently, GoogleRick Chen and I compare and contrast what it takes to get a high-powered, high-paying job in the finance, real estate and tech industries and get into the nuts and bolts of what it takes to stand out as a job candidate.
Michael pulls back the curtain and shares the internal workings of recruiting and job placement at Google.
We explore everything from how recruiters are incentivized, whether they are told to lowball candidates, what they say about you to a hiring manager or the hiring committee, and if it's better to work with a recruiter at the company or an external agency recruiter.

What do you need to consider when hiring a CTO?
Here are my top 3 things to ask yourself
1) Value: Do you know what you want to build and why?
2) Funds: Do you have funds to pay for the CTO, not just in year one but on-going?
3) Timing: Is now the right time or can you use no code/ low code solutions to begin with?

Good help is hard to find – especially in the IT industry. Finding and hiring the right people with the skills to maintain your tech stack has become more costly than ever. Those were a couple of things I learned from this article. ➡️ https://bit.ly/3GOF0qZ
“Yo Brian! Today is my last day at Gong… Appreciate all the support from you when…”
Nothing worse than getting hit with the email/Slack when a team member leaves.
It’s scary when a few top performers leave, in a close time period.
It used to spark some fear in me.
-Why are they leaving?
-Do they not believe in the vision?
-Did they get forced out?
Caveat: As long as the execs / senior leaders aren’t all mass exodusing.
After 6 years in SaaS, I’ve learned it’s just the circle of life.
Always be excited when people get a great offer and find their next play.
The average rep stays at a tech org for less than 3 years.
Make sure you’re the person rooting for them.
You'll probably cross paths again.
