How useful are radiomics and machine learning (ML) in clinical practice when it comes to stroke prediction? In our recent systematic review and meta-analysis, alongside a narrative review led by Roberta Scicolone, we explored the use of radiomics and machine learning to differentiate symptomatic and asymptomatic carotid artery plaques. In the systematic review we analyzed the methodological quality of research from 2005 to 2023, revealing promising results for radiomics-based ML models in identifying culprit plaques using CT and MRI. Notably, combining radiomics with clinical data achieved the highest predictive performance (AUC 0.89), underscoring the potential of radiomics and ML in early cerebrovascular event prediction. #Radiomics #MachineLearning #Stroke Feel free to read the full studies for more details: https://lnkd.in/dAhVgSim; https://lnkd.in/dQzJDcT2
