💡 We’re excited to see the release of the second iteration of the Future Flight Standards Landscape. Our aviation team has contributed expertise and guidance to assist BSI in broadening the scope of the initial standards landscape. The updated landscape encompasses a diverse array of future flight vehicles and extends to address additional topics such as battery charging and hydrogen fuelling. Future flight refers to the innovative evolution of aviation, encompassing the development and integration of electric sub-regional aircraft, advanced air mobility vehicles, and drones. It explores how advancements like AI and electric propulsion will transform how we connect people, transport goods and deliver services in a sustainable way to drive socio-economic benefits across the UK. As part of the project, Varad H. and Richard Derrett-Smith worked with BSI in refining the existing landscape through research, stakeholder engagement and applying their expertise to incorporate new and relevant standards from aviation and related industries. ✈ The Future Flight Standards Landscape serves as a comprehensive resource to help industry navigate the evolving complexities within future flight and aviation.
