Very interesting podcast episode touching on the Canadian mental health system's reliance on diagnosis and subsequent treatment. Alternatively, land-based treatment, guided by traditional Indigenous knowledge is discussed. Hearing the perspectives of patients and clients seeking belonging in a system that largely strips them of identity I can't help but consider how a land-based approach to mental health care isn't exclusive to Indigenous folks. Reconciliation is not solely the responsibility of the Canadian government. Reconciliation is rebuilding our collective relationship to land. Reconciliation is valuing traditional Indigenous knowledge. #indigenoustherapist #métistherapist #ojibwetherapist #landbasedtreatmentforeveryone #reconciliation https://lnkd.in/d-WukeGT
