I recently had the chance to sit down with @Ian Wendt and Dr. @Na-Ri Oh on the RealPharma podcast. You can hear the episode here: https://lnkd.in/gVtzdPG3 We cover a variety of topics related to public health, including Operation Warp Speed, diversity in clinical trials, improving healthcare access and outcomes, addressing health inequities, collaborative approaches in healthcare, challenges with pricing models, the importance of prevention and health literacy, and lessons learned from COVID-19. We also discuss the impact of political pandering on public health messaging and the erosion of trust in the CDC. We consider the need for proper funding and communication in the CDC to effectively respond to public health crises. This discussion also highlights the importance of practical information and listening to the public, as well as supporting public health workers. The conversation also touches on the reputation of the pharma industry and the paradox of trust and distrust in public health organizations. I hope you can join us for this thoughtful conversation.

💡 Three members of the RWE4Decisions Steering Group discuss the opportunities and challenges for stakeholders' collaboration to develop robust Real-World Evidence that can inform healthcare decision makers. “We need to continue to think about the lifecycle approach to RWE generation, identifying very early when we might need RWE for evaluation of medicines by regulators or HTA and then for conditional reimbursement and treatment optimization.” - Karen Facey “Another critical issue is transparency. So far, data are not public and only reports on each and every drug is published whenever possible. A shift to an interactive dashboard within our sysem is in production to make timely data available to everybody.” - Carlos Martín Saborido, about Valtermed 🇪🇸 “The European Health Data Space (EHDS) has the potential to accelerate the use of RWE, however in order for it to do so it will be important to reach a critical mass of data – something which can only be achieved if enough citizens consent to sharing their health data. Therefore, an opt-out mechanism for consent should be included in the proposal rather than an opt-in mechanism, as the latter could lead to too low participation.” - Alexander Natz 🎙 Listen to the podcast here: https://lnkd.in/eJ69fpv2 EUCOPE - European Confederation of Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurs
Real-world evidence (#RWE) is fundamental for healthcare systems to provide better and tailored outcomes for #patients. 🎙️Karen Facey of RWE4Decisions , Carlos Martín Saborido of Ministerio de Sanidad and EUCOPE's Alexander Natz join our latest #podcast to discuss how RWE and real-world data (#RWD) are used to evaluate medicines and explore the upcoming opportunities that can be leveraged for its increased acceptance and use. 🗣️This episode is hosted by EUCOPE's Dante Di Iulio 🎧Full episode available: https://lnkd.in/eJ69fpv2 #podcasts #spotify #applepodcasts #googlepodcasts #spotifypodcast #lifesciences #clinicaltrials #ehds #euhta #patientoutcomes
