What concerns do you have about bringing up home care with your aging parents? Bringing in assistance can bring up a range of emotions for seniors, so here are a few tips for a successful conversation: 1. Talk about your experience and what you've noticed, rather than telling them what you think they need. 2. Ask questions and listen to their concerns without judgement. 3. Emphasize that getting a little assistance can help them stay independent longer. 4. Keep them involved in the process every step of the way. 5. Avoid the terms "Home Care" or "Caregiver," which can increase their anxiety about losing independence. Have more questions?
