I am not the perfect candidate. However not being the perfect candidate is what makes me a great candidate and employee. If I was the perfect candidate there would be no excitement in learning new things and trying to figure things out. Working at an organization or with clients involves working with different people, personalities and projects. The best candidate is cognizant of that, can adapt and figure new ways to get the job done. The best candidate is not here to take your job but to help make your job easier and provide results for the organization and their clients. Stop looking for the perfect candidate but look for a great candidate. There are plenty of them out there. Give them a chance like someone gave you a chance with your imperfections and all. #MemorialDay #employment #positive #Healthcare #ClinicalResearch #ProjectManagement #Agile #Scrum #Leadership #SaaS #Tech #QualityControl #RiskManagement. #StakeholderManagement. #ContinuousImprovement #ResourceManagement #HealthcareAdministration #TeamLeadership #ProductManagement #Jira #SixSigma #Innovation #director

Exploring the possibility of Agile vs. Waterfall in Recruiting to optimize the hiring process! We often hear that the hiring process can be challenging and in need of improvement. So, let's talk about strategies that can be incorporated into the hiring process and whether the agile or waterfall approach is more suitable. 🔗 Agile vs. Waterfall: The agile approach emphasizes iterative development, teamwork, and constant feedback. It's known for its adaptability and flexibility, which can be beneficial in recruiting. This method encourages collaboration between recruiters, hiring managers, and candidates, leading to improved communication and experiences. Plus, it allows for continuous improvement, a crucial aspect of the ever-evolving recruiting landscape. 🔄 This approach can perhaps be included in all stages of recruiting from sourcing to onboarding!. On the other hand, the waterfall approach is a linear, sequential method typically suited for projects with well-defined scopes and timelines which is also essential in recruiting as we often think about the hiring timelines. While it may work for long-term hiring plans, it's less adaptable and responsive to changing recruitment needs. 🔄 Choosing the Right Approach: Consider your organization's goals and immediate needs. If you require the ability to quickly adapt to evolving recruitment demands, agile may be the way to go. However, if you have a well-defined, long-term hiring plan, the waterfall approach might offer more structure. What are your thoughts 🤔 ? Have you tried agile or waterfall methodologies in recruiting, and what has been your experience? #RecruitingTips #AgileRecruiting #WaterfallRecruiting #RecruitmentStrategies #HR #HiringProcess #AgileMethodology #WaterfallMethodology #ProfessionalDiscussion

Dear #HR and #PMO functions! (Or anyone hiring a new Project Manager for their organization.) Here are a few thoughts (dos and don’ts) for you to consider when it comes to #onboarding a new Project Manager: Dos (include, but not limited to): · Provide reading materials, but also… · Explain the project (business context, objectives, etc.) · Explain the organization (structure, leaders, etc.) · Introduce key people (stakeholders, team members, etc.) · Explain the system of project administration (PMO processes, folder structures, etc.) · Explain the relevant corporate processes (IT, procurement, etc.) · Assign at least two peers to whom the new resource can turn with questions Explanations need not be long (especially if the reading materials are good enough) but should A) highlight the most important things and B) point to people/documents where more details can be obtained. Don’ts: · Don’t assume that the reading materials you give are up-to-date, accurate, complete, or consistent. · Don’t believe that “learning on the job” is a faster track compared to proper onboarding. · Don’t let time pressure shorten (or eliminate) the onboarding process. · Don’t expect the new resource to start acting as a fully-fledged project manager before their onboarding is complete. · Don’t think that a more experienced new resource needs less orientation. (Sometimes they need more as they can interpret things in different ways.) Proper onboarding is an investment from your side that the new resource will highly appreciate and that will eventually provide a high yield to you. Yeah…

Unsolicited advice for all the companies sweating to hire a Project Manager, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Product Manager …or worse: a mix of all those without being #conscious of all the conflicts you are inherently designing for your motivating business and motivated employees Instead of hiring an employee that will not be able of delivering for the (big) money you are paying: consider investing in an #EnterpriseDesign consultant instead …who will be able to tell you why/how/what the capabilities you need, the processes you are pushing for and the assets you are working with may not be #coherent with the (big) money, time and purpose you’re investing for Bonus: by empowering your HR, operations and strategic leadership with this new (but fast-growing) expertise, you will make everyone’s life (much) more #simple

Driving the CHRO and Sustainability Agenda, building organizations that are fit for people and for the future. Outdoor enthusiast and mindful walking guide.
Are your talents leaving? Here is one potential explanation: When you change / develop the organization structure and roles without revising the career model and talent management strategy, you are basically designing to lose your best talents. While top talents are typically faster to see the opportunities in organizational transformation - they will also be very attentive to whether the new setup actually delivers value and if there is space and opportunity enough for them to continue to develop, grow and progress. One good example of this may be the creation of a new centre of excellence (CoE) for HR or Finance. If you are not providing a career model for the CoE, you will most likely lose your top specialists within 2-3 years time. Another example is the introduction of so called "agile" models and the associated roles. Just because you enjoy being a scrum master today, does not mean you want to be stuck in this role forever. Again, if no answers are provided, the best will move on. #organizationdesign #talentmanagement
