Sustainability is a vital part our Excelerate25 Strategy. As a bank for the people, by the people, serving the people, we aim to advance the lives of youth by ensuring their empowerment through educational programmes, skills development, and entrepreneurship programmes. They are then empowered to serve their communities. In this spirit, we recently launched a 12-month long “Youth Internship Development Programme”, (YDP25). The objective of the programme is to develop and empower unemployed youth by giving them real life work experience, preparing them for the workforce. The programme offers NQF Level 4 certified training courses and interventions that enhance chances of success, coupled with 8-months of on-the-job training. We recently celebrated their success during their graduation ceremony, which took place at the Africanbank office in Midrand. We wish our graduates a long and fruitful career. #Africanbank #AudacityToBelieve

🌍 World Youth Skills Day 2024: Empowering Youth for Peace and Development 🌍 At 260 Brands, we believe that it is crucial to equip young people with the skills needed to foster a culture of peace, nurture responsible global citizens, and promote sustainable development. By doing so, we can build a more just, inclusive, and sustainable future for all. In a world facing challenges that impact our youth, including conflicts, an increasingly polarised online environment, and persistent economic inequality limiting opportunities, these issues not only threaten individual futures but also undermine the stability of our societies. 260 Brands is committed to contributing to youth skill development through various initiatives and has recently partnered with the Ministry of Youth, Art and Sports on a joint Internship, Volunteer, Apprenticeship, and Graduate (IVAG) Programme that enhances youth employability. As part of this program, 260 Brands has committed to to provide 150 youth with internship and mentorship opportunities. Together, we can create a better world for all. #WorldYouthSkillsDay #YouthEmpowerment #SkillsForPeace #SustainableDevelopment #YouthDevelopment #EmpowerYouth #FutureLeaders #260Brands #ProudlyZambian

Did you know? The prioritisation of skills development is a crucial requirement for B-BBEE compliance. Mandatory Skills Development Investment: It requires businesses to invest a minimum percentage of their annual payroll expenditure in skills development initiatives. Currently, the requirement is 6% of payroll for larger businesses and 3% for businesses with less than 50 employees. Learnerships and Internships: One effective way businesses can fulfill the Skills Development Element is by implementing learnership and internship programs. These programs provide valuable opportunities for individuals to gain practical work experience while acquiring industry-specific skills and knowledge. The Skills Development Element places emphasis on the development of priority skills that are aligned with the needs of the South African economy. These priority skills vary across different sectors, considering current and future demands. Follow us for more B-BBEE facts! #FairosBusinessConsulting #SkillsDevelopment #BBBEE #BEE
