Some can afford the luxury of "discussing" about climate change. For others climate change is real, unavoidable and unquestionable. There is a ripple effect of the link climate change and #forcedmigration. Our research on the secondary effects of being forced to migrate because of #climatechange are showing a dangerous increase on #childrenabuse. Rural families unable to farm anymore send their young ones to work to urban areas, especially girls to work in domestic labour. In some regions in #Africa and #India, we are finding kidnappings by "known people" during the travel toward cities. Girls are then forced into #sexualslavery and lost to the families forever. Sometimes families have been able to find their lost children. In one recent case, a family was able to find her daughter kidnapped at 11 while travelling to Mumbai, when she was 15. She had 2 babies of her own and had been a sex slave for 4 years. #childrenprotection #forcedlabour #sexualcommerce #slavery #climatechange #forcedmigration
