🕯️What do you do if you experience someone's passing? 🤍 A few weeks ago my "Better Half" lost a family member (not someone I was close with) and I want to share some insights with you, as many, especially internationals living abroad have that as one of their greatest fears. By discussing it when all is good, we can be prepared and know what to do - Just like learning to perform CPR 💓 you hope you will never get to use it but want to have practiced it, just in case. First of all: What do you DO when you have to take care of practical things? Being in an emotional shock, there are still things that you have to take action on. We discovered that the municipalities have extensive guidance available (Checklist available in Danish) https://lnkd.in/dqKkZvJB Second: Do you know what is the process in your home country? And Third: Have "the conversation". In my family we are used to discussing issues like that, so we know each other's wishes, will, etc. Not all families are the same. If someone is sick, it's even harder to initiate the talk, so better to have it when everyone is well. Finally (always): Intentionally create memories - when you get the chance to be with your loved ones, especially those you don't interact with on a daily basis. In moments like these, I re-evaluate my own life choices - that's just what I do, and I can say that I am happy and grateful to be where I am, doing what I do. Wishing you all a great week ahead 🤗💓. Stay grateful and stay safe. Mariola, First Friend in Denmark

This year, I've made a conscious decision to extract valuable lessons from each passing month, reflecting on how they've influenced both my personal and professional life. MARCH As March swiftly passed, I take a moment to reflect on the month and the lessons it brought. My intention was to cultivate patience, yet the more I fixated on it, the more elusive it became. There were numerous occasions where my patience wore thin, making it challenging to regain focus and composure. Patience is indeed an art form, not something mastered in a day, month, or year. Now more than ever, I am convinced that it's a skill best instilled from a young age, requiring daily dedication and practice. Despite my initial aspirations, I found myself reaching the end of the month with a patience level of zero and impatience at its peak. However, amid all this struggle, valuable lessons emerged, integral to the journey of personal growth. Impatience can indeed cloud judgment and lead to hasty, regrettable decisions. Patience, on the other hand, should form the bedrock of every significant choice we make, as acting impulsively often brings about negative consequences. This month has taught me the importance of gathering all relevant information, meticulously analyzing it, and trusting my intuition for a decision that cannot be undone. Moreover, while I may not have excelled in patience during this particular month, I've observed its profound impact on my work and career. Despite not seeing immediate results in my quest for patience, I've recognized that persistent effort, personal development, resilience, and timing play pivotal roles in achieving success. Patience, undoubtedly, remains an essential virtue. In fact, this month marks a significant milestone in my professional journey. Lastly, it's crucial to acknowledge that patience extends beyond oneself; it involves understanding and respecting the pace of those around us. Practicing patience offers a unique opportunity to observe and appreciate the world, granting others the space to express themselves. It's a gesture of respect for their journey, enriching our interactions and fostering understanding. Thank you March, let's welcome April with open arms, ready for the unpredictable journey ahead! To exercise patience is to wait a full year to witness these beautiful trees flowering in Costa Rica.

As we approach the last days of June, it's natural to reflect on the goals and plans we had for this month. Maybe you had a list of things you wanted to accomplish, but life got in the way and you didn't quite get to them. And that's okay. Don't beat yourself up about it. Instead, let's use this coming month of July to put in the work. Let's use this time to focus on our goals and make progress towards them. Whether it's personal or professional, let's use July as a fresh start to get things done. Remember, progress is not always linear. There will be ups and downs, but what matters is that we keep moving forward. So let's not dwell on what we didn't do in June, but rather use it as motivation to push ourselves in July. Let's make the month of July count. Let's put in the work, stay focused, and make progress towards our goals. We got this! Happy last Friday of June and cheers to a productive July ahead. #motivation #progress #freshstart

Take a deep breath! Breathe! It's normal to feel overwhelmed or under pressure sometimes. Sometimes it's like you just have so much to do but you can't do anything right. There's so much pressure on you and u're failing. As a student you have to combine so much together; school, professional exams, work.... it's a lot really and all this stress and work is getting to you. As a working professional, you have to work, take care of your family and others and sometimes there's a lot of pressure on you and you just want to give up. Breathe! It's normal to feel overwhelmed sometimes, it's normal to fall under pressure, but how do you make sure you don't stay overwhelmed? ➡️ Identify what is causing you to feel pressured. Is it excess work, school stress, personal problems, family issues.. whatever it is, identify the source of the problem. ➡️ If possible, take a break from everything. Take a break from that thing or everything that causes the overwhelm. You can just hide away for a few days and not do that thing so your brain and mind can have some rest. ➡️Re-strategize. find a better way to do that thing. You probably might have been handling it the wrong way, that's why the pressure is getting to you. If possible, talk to people about it so they give you advice on what to do and you feel less burdened. ➡️Pray. Pray for God's help strength and wisdom to do it right. God's strength and comfort is always enough to carry you through every challenge so ask Lord to help you. Even as you prepare for your ICAN exams, sometimes you might feel pressured having to combine preparing for the exams with a lot of things. Breathe!
