Functionality of the Autonomous UTV part 3: Here’s a few videos showcasing a part of each section of the design. Especially important is our 2D LiDAR sensor from Sick Tech. that allows us a 2 stage crash avoidance. The first zone detects wide out from the collector and simply slows down the vehicle to prepare for a fault. The second zone is the region where a crash is certain to happen in this region a fault triggers and the vehicle stops. Once the obstacle is moved the vehicle continues. The function to prevent crashes was crucial for the safe operation of the UTV. Please shoot any questions y’all have, I’d love to hear them.

Researchers from Ulm University and BMW AG have found that autonomous vehicles face significant challenges in adverse weather due to limitations in camera and LiDAR sensors, prompting the creation of the SemanticSpray dataset.
