Reflecting on a transformational first half of 2024 Before going into the summer holiday period, Aegir Insights’ team got together in Copenhagen for our annual Summer Gathering. We visited the Middelgrund offshore wind farm and tested our knowledge with a quiz about this iconic project which has been in operation since 2002. We ended the day with dinner and drinks. Reflecting on the first half of 2024, it has been a busy and transformational year: 🔹The offshore wind industry is still in a time of re-calibration, with costs, markets, and the competitive landscape changing rapidly. But, the fundamentals remain strong. 🔹We welcomed 15 new colleagues who are working hard together with the rest of the team to launch some transformational products this year, which will help clients navigate complexity and efficiency in the offshore wind sector. 🔹We expanded our development partnerships with key industry players, enhancing our efforts to drive innovation value in the offshore wind sector. We wish clients, partners, and friends of Aegir a relaxing summer break. When back and re-energized, we are very excited to see what the second half of 2024 will bring! #offshorewind #summer #team

👏 Very proud to have our CELTIC project #AI4Green as a nominee finalist for the #GlobalInnovationsSummit 2024! 🟢 AI4Green is an industry-driven project where practical solutions and demonstrators are privileged, in addition to theoretical and simulation studies! ➡ With 17 partners from Finland, France, Portugal, Sweden and Türkiye, the project aimed to implement innovative solutions in terms of hardware and software through testbeds that allowed to show the effectiveness of the solutions as well as the input requirements for empowering such models.⚙️ The project also considered services based on heterogeneous data collection as the main purpose of it was also to study new business services not only for enhancing connectivity but also to build business models based on AI such as energy as a service, connectivity marketplaces, and smart cities! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eRZEKiC

Some take home messages from EERA DeepWind 2024 It was an interesting opening session where some important aspect of offshore wind development were highlighted. Development of sustainable offshore wind farms requires long term commitment from government, industry and Academia. This was very clear from the presentations in the Opening session – Frontiers of science and technology. My personal favourite from the session was Lena Kitzing's talk about "Contract for difference" . Food for thought! My colleagues Joachim Reuder and Etienne Cheynet chaired a well visited parallel session on Met-ocean conditions. We still need a better understanding of the wind over sea and to develop better tools for wind calculations on various scales! The 1st General Assembly of the ENPOWER project took place this week in Vienna, excellently hosted by Blueprint Energy Solutions with the support of the Austrian pilot co-host and partner, OurPower Energiegenossenschaft SCE mbH. 🌍⚡ ✅During two days, the project partners, led by the coordinator DSS Lab, EPU-NTUA, discussed the progress made over the last 9 months. We covered a range of topics, from the insightful results of social science-powered end-user workshops to the planning and development of data-driven tools that will enable new services for energy communities. We also delved into the innovative solutions that will be tested in our pilots, focusing on both front-runners and early adopters within the energy communities. These solutions aim to optimize energy management, enhance community engagement, and promote sustainable practices. ✨ The exchange of experiences and insights among our partners underscores the importance of collaboration in driving innovation forward.
