🎗️ April is Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month! 🎗️ Let's shine a light on a cause close to many hearts. As we recognize this month, it's crucial to spread awareness about the prevention and timely detection, and treatment of head and neck cancers. Over 70,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with Head & Neck cancers each year. These can affect various areas, including the oral cavity (mouth), pharynx (throat), larynx (voice box), nasal cavity, sinuses, and salivary glands. Globally, it is the 7th most common cancer with an estimated 890,000 new cases (roughly 4.5% of all cancer diagnoses around the world) in 2020. Adela is in the forefront of advancing methylation-based tests to help guide treatment decisions for these types of cancers. Explore the innovative research and impactful initiatives driving our mission at www.adelabio.com. 🤝 Let's join hands in raising awareness and supporting those affected by head and neck cancers. #HeadandNeckCancerAwareness #adela

April is #HeadAndNeckCancerAwarenessMonth: join us to increase awareness about this type of cancer! Head and neck cancer encompasses various cancers affecting the throat, larynx, nose, sinuses and mouth. In Switzerland, over 2,000 people are diagnosed with head and neck cancer every year. Most of those affected are between 50 and 70 years old. However, the incidence is also increasing in younger people, which is mainly related to cancers of the mouth and throat caused by #HPV infection. By raising awareness of head and neck cancer and its symptoms, we at MSD aim to promote #earlydetection and potentially save lives. We are committed to developing innovations that can improve the lives of cancer patients. Let's fight head and neck cancer together! #inventingforlife

Tomorrow, 30th September, is Rare Cancer Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of these conditions and encouraging earlier detection. In the EU and UK there are 5.1 million people who are affected by rare cancers which, like other rare diseases, can be extremely challenging to diagnose. Delayed diagnosis and limited scientific understanding of these rare conditions can also have an impact on treatment and long-term survival. There are 198 rare cancers which together represent 24% of all cancer cases in Europe, including all cancers in children. In Europe, 650,000 people are diagnosed with a rare cancer every year and unfortunately the 5-year survival rate is lower for these patients than for other more common cancers. Increasing awareness could lead to improvements in diagnosis and survival rates. To find out more please visit: https://lnkd.in/eh2gwb8J

Hepatitis B and hepatitis C remain the primary risk factors for developing liver cancer, which is Australia’s fastest growing cause of cancer death. It is largely preventable through sufficient action on hepatitis B and hepatitis C prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care. Learn about closing the care gap and how you can join the World Cancer Day Call to Action, calling out governments around the world to promote health equity, enhance cancer service accessibility, reduce disparities in cancer incidence and mortality, to finally close the care gap. Today is World Lung Cancer Day. World Lung Cancer Day is an annual event held on August 1st, with the purpose of increasing awareness about this life-threatening condition, highlighting its risk factors, and challenging the stigma frequently linked to lung cancer. Lung cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in one or both lungs. There are two types of lung cancer – small cell lung cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. Adults between the ages of 40 and 70 who have smoked cigarettes for at least 20 years are most at risk of developing lung cancer. But there are many other risk factors including previous lung disease (COPD/TB), passive smoking exposure, family history and occupational exposure. Please share this and help spread awareness on this World Lung Cancer Day and support those affected by this disease. #WorldLungCancerDay #lungcancer #cancerawareness #canopycancercare #patientcare

Head and neck cancer is not just one type of cancer. It includes more than 10 different cancers that can affect a person’s mouth, tongue, throat, salivary glands, skin or voice box. According to Head and Neck Cancer Australia, there has been a 34% increase in head and neck cancers in the last decade. Despite this, most Australians are still not familiar with it until they, or a loved one is diagnosed. July is Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month and an important opportunity to support greater understanding around the tremendous burden of head and neck cancers on Australian families. “We are proud to support organisations like Head and Neck Cancer Australia who share our commitment to improving patient outcomes by providing equitable access to information, resources and care,” Hayley Andersen, Head of Patient Advocacy and Policy at #BMSAustralia. I'd like to close out November (Oral Cancer Action Month) with one final push to advocate for oral cancer screening. You may think you are not at risk for Oral Cancer. So who is and who should be screened? Well, at one point it was much easier to identify the factors that would make someone more susceptible to oral cancer. Traditional risk factors have included: 🦷Previous history of oral cancer 🦷40 years of age or older 🦷Heavy use of alcohol 🦷Smoking 🦷Use of smokeless tobacco However, today, 40 percent of oral cancer patients have NONE of the traditional risk factors. Part of this change is explained by the increasing numbers of oral cancer cases associated with HPV (human papillomavirus). This makes it more difficult to link the risk of oral cancer to specific lifestyle contributors, which means ALL adults should be screened regularly to be safe. Call us at (267)-828-1656 to schedule a screening. #oralcancer #mouthcancer #mouthcanceractionmonth...

August 1 is World Lung Cancer Day. This day is recognized yearly to bring awareness to the disease and support lung cancer patients, survivors and their families. In 2023, the Lung Cancer Foundation of America celebrates the 12th anniversary of World Lung Cancer Day by focusing on how scientific breakthroughs and decades of research have made #livingwithlungcancer more manageable. Excluding skin cancer, lung cancer is the second most common type of cancer in American men and women and the leading cause of cancer death. According to the American Cancer Society, almost 240,000 new lung cancer cases will be diagnosed in the United States. Because lung cancer affects so many, we must do our part to recognize its causes and risk factors. Smoking is the number one risk factor for lung cancer, accounting for approximately 80% of its deaths. In general, long-term inhaling harmful chemicals into your lungs can have severe implications for your health. Today and every day, Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute stands with those affected by lung cancer. #LungCancerAwareness #WorldLungCancerDay

‘Ovarian cancer’ is not a singular diagnosis, rather it is an umbrella term for a multitude of different types of cancer that affect the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the primary peritoneal cavity. It is estimated that there are more than 30 different types of ovarian cancer, and there is a very wide variation in incidence and outlook in terms of the different types. Ovarian cancer is the most lethal of the female cancers for which there is no reliable screening test, and every person assigned female at birth is at risk. With delays in diagnoses due to this lack of screening and because symptoms are often confused with other, less severe, illness, most people are diagnosed once the cancer has already spread, making it more difficult to treat. While every woman is at risk, ovarian cancer is overlooked and underfunded. We must raise awareness about ovarian cancer, its symptoms, and its impact. By doing so, we can bring attention to the need for more research, better screening methods, and increased funding. Early diagnosis and intervention are key to improving survival rates. Let's stand together, spread the word, and fight against ovarian cancer. #OvarianCancerAwareness #FightCancerTogether.
