Inspired by Martin Fowler and the way he conceived the Strangler Pattern from observing strangler figs in Australia , here was one such moment for me back in 2020. Deriving a systems design pattern inspired from the physical world . The 'Gated Bridge Pattern.' This architectural approach, inspired by real-world gated bridges, addresses unique challenges in building centralized digital products needing connections to heterogeneous, multi-country systems at Deutsche Telekom Implementing this in Deutsche Telekom’s operating countries across Europe led to: - A 70% acceleration in event integration timelines, from months to days. - Unified and faster integration of vendor events integrations like Medallia and Braintree, all the while: - Significantly reducing the need for harmonization and governance efforts. - Avoiding changes to local systems and their event pipelines, bypassing what would have been a multi-year project requiring new tool rollouts. This was brilliantly implemented to near perfection by a nimble team led by Shashidhar Singhal . That would be a great technical writeup and here’s the challenge to Shashi.
