We were proud to be represented by members of our Child Development Team at the 2024 Early Learning Career Expo in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office, Chicago Public Schools, and the Department of Family and Support Services. We enjoyed helping recruit people to attend and the turnout was great! Numerous vendors and organizations were present at the Expo, offering a wide range of employment opportunities. In addition to the Resource Fair exhibitor booths, the Expo featured keynote presentations, panel discussions, and one on one discussions with a Higher Education Navigator from Illinois Action for Children who helped provide information and guidance on higher education opportunities across the region, and support attendees in the application process. Networking sessions were designed to facilitate connections between participants and industry leaders.

We love to provide opportunities for the people we serve with intellectual and developmental disabilities to socialize outside of our daily programming for community integration and positive experiences. This weekend they joined our staff at the Independence Day Parade & Cookout Celebration in Lynwood, IL. They enjoyed watching the parade, eating delicious barbeque, lovely weather, and dancing with Lynwood’s Mayor Jada D. Curry and other public officials. #AdaSMcKinley #PeopleWithDisabilities #EmpowerEducateEmploy
