Sustainability and Women-Led Businesses: The environmental and social impact of women-led businesses and the importance of sustainable practices. Sustainable development goals have become an imperative aspiration for a nation. To realize these goals of sustainability, women-led businesses have played a significant role in achieving this feat. Let’s look at some instances to understand the importance and impact of these businesses in our society and environment. Environmental Stewardship: Studies have shown that women entrepreneurs are more focus-driven when it comes to social and environmental issues than their male counterparts. They emphasize more the social goal than the economic goal and are more engaged in ecological venturing. Engagement in the Green Future: It has been found that the women workforce is higher in the renewable energy sector than in the fossil fuel sector, particularly at 32% compared to 22%. UNIDO research suggests that women entrepreneurs are more inclined to set up their businesses in green industries than in conventional ones. Ecological & Sustainable Practices Research shows that women-led startups are more likely to develop products and services that address social and environmental issues. They prioritize ethical supply chains, which means ensuring fair labor practices, supporting local artisans, and promoting transparency in sourcing materials, all of which contribute to social responsibility and sustainable business practices. It has become more than important to put emphasis on sustainable practices in the corporate world, as their actions have a major influence on our lives and the environment. Those businesses that follow a sustainable business model gain a competitive advantage over those that disregard it. Thus, a pivotal shift in business practices should be prioritised at most. Do you believe that women-led businesses that focus on sustainability are given less recognition or financial aid? Do share your opinion on this. We would love to hear from you!!! #Sustainable #Women #Womenledbusinesses #Environment #Greefuture

At Paving , we believe a #sustainable future hinges not just on eco-friendly materials, but on #inclusivity and empowerment. That's why we're shining a spotlight on the vital, yet often unseen, role women play in #waste management, particularly in developing nations like India. Women are the silent engines driving waste management. From household segregation to informal recycling, they shoulder an immense responsibility, keeping communities clean and healthy. They are the grassroots warriors, battling environmental degradation with every scrap of #plastic they sort and every bottle they repurpose. - 70% of waste pickers in India are women, according to the United Nations Environment Programme. - 90% of street recycling pickers in Pune are women, reports Ocean Conservancy. - Women earn only half the wages of men in the waste management sector, despite playing crucial roles. Paving is committed to creating a more equitable and sustainable future for all. We recognize the importance of empowering women in waste management, and we're actively working to: - Upskill and equip: Provide training, tools, and safety gear to help women transition from informal to formal livelihoods. - Advocate for equality: Champion policies that address gender disparities and ensure women's voices are heard at all levels. - Support women entrepreneurs: Foster innovation by providing financial and technical assistance to female-led waste management ventures. Join us in paving the way for a future where women are not just part of the solution, but leaders in shaping a greener, more equitable world. Note : View the below column chart to know the Involvement of women in solid waste management processes in India (informal sector) #PavingPlusForEquality #WasteWarriors #EmpoweringWomen #SustainableFuture
