🌍 Enhancing Cross-Border Payments: G20's Drive The G20's endorsement of a roadmap to improve cross-border payments aims to cut costs, speed up transactions, ensure access, and boost transparency. This area of finance is predicted to grow by $100 trillion in a decade, benefiting corporations, enterprises, and consumers worldwide. Despite growing demand, high costs persist due to regulatory requirements and technological limitations. The G20's roadmap, set for achievement by 2027, targets a reduction in costs, faster transaction speeds, improved accessibility, and more transparent payment information for users. Realizing these goals necessitates significant collaboration and investment between the public and private sectors. Embracing standards like ISO20022 for payment data and fostering public-private partnerships are key steps toward achieving these objectives. UK Finance actively contributes to these initiatives through industry roundtables and public-private task forces. By engaging stakeholders and supporting practical actions, the focus is on reducing costs, simplifying transactions, and enhancing cross-border payments for the benefit of users and the industry. #CrossBorderPayments #FinanceDevelopment #FinanceProgress
