As a leader what are you doing to ensure your team bring their best selves to work? Yesterday the European Ryder Cup Team won 16 1/2 points to beat America by 5. Such was their success and bond within the team the 12 players want Luke Donald, to remain as Team Captain for the next Ryder Cup in 2025. Luke had a strategy to inspire the team to believe that they could win. One of the things he did was to talk as a group about how it's really important to not just play for each other but play for those that mean the most to you. At the beginning of the week, he gave the 12 members of the team a two minute video from the people that were important to them to remind them of what was important. He believed this would inspire and encourage them to be their best selves over this 3 day competition. As a leader what are you doing to ensure your team bring their best selves to work? #inspire #encourage #bestself #teansuccess #highperformingteams

🏌️♂️ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐁𝐂'𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞'𝐬 𝐑𝐲𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐮𝐩 𝐖𝐢𝐧: 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠! The recent Ryder Cup showcased two teams filled with talent and camaraderie. But what set the Europeans apart? A clear, big-picture strategy. While both teams demonstrated unity, the Europeans had an intentional game plan based on the 𝐀𝐁𝐂’s: 𝘈𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴, 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 and 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦. Setting a culture that put the team first with a mutual understanding that they were representing something much bigger than themselves was only part of it. They had an intentional game plan to jump out early and engage the crowd. This wasn’t just about team dynamics or talent; it was a calculated approach that created the momentum needed to carry them to victory. As the Americans reflect on their loss as to whether it was due to timing or just the nature of the sport, the European victory points to a more predictable story, one of blending team spirit with tactical strategy. The business parallel is striking. While building team rapport is essential, it isn’t the whole story. The ‘warm fuzzies’ we feel towards our teammates and coworkers are wonderful, but they must be complemented by clear goals and a shared vision. Creating a positive work environment and feeling proud of your team is one thing, ensuring that that pride translates into tangible results is another. To create a culture that sets you apart from the competition, it’s about recognizing the bigger picture and aligning your team’s strengths and weaknesses with clear goals based on a long-term strategy. Navigating this balance can be tricky. If you’re looking to craft a culture that doesn’t just celebrate your team but also aligns with your long-terms business goals, let’s chat! https://lnkd.in/dEABuQjm #RyderCup #TeamCulture #BusinessSuccess #StrategyMatters

Michael Jordan said: "Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships." Carlo Ancelotti thinks the full quote (below) should be on every dressing room wall... I agree and think it should be the office wall of every business leader. Times are hard out there in corporate and have been for awhile - however- winning is still possible, morale can be restored or bumped up, and we can work together well - even if remote. This season at Real Madrid where Carlos is the coach- the team had ups and downs that jeopardized his job security as recently as a few weeks ago and yet he stayed neutral and continues to march toward success. I do hope you read the book. Chris Brady, a professor at Salford said that Carlos "works on the basis that he will be at his club forever while simultaneously knowing it could end tomorrow." What a way to be. People count on their peers and leaders stepping up and engaging - not easy during losses and tough times but the ones that dig deep and do - even when they know they might be on their way out - it's refreshing. It's reputation - it's appreciated. As Carlos said, for player's to give their all they have to be convinced about what they're doing - this season for Carlos it's winning the Champions League title - what is it for you and your teams - and do they know? I think the quote can apply to families, friend groups, soccer teams, and companies. Well said by a pro that knew what he was doing in sports and in business. "There are plenty of teams in every sport that have great players and never win titles. Most of the time, those players aren't willing to sacrifice for the greater good of the team. The funny thing is, in the end, their unwillingness to sacrifice only makes individual goals more difficult to achieve. One thing I believe to the fullest is that if you think and achieve as a team, the individual accolades will take care of themselves. Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships." Good luck, B

🇨🇭 Congratulations to Switzerland's large win over Italy on Saturday! The Swiss National Football Team showed great strength, resilience, and teamwork on Saturday to beat the defending champions, Italy. I truly love underdog stories, however this might not be an underdog story as they truly showed preparation and might! Here are some key takeaways that tie in to my work as a Customer Success Manager: 🤝 Teamwork makes the dream work - No win (whether in football or CS) is a solo effort. Just like an in-sync football team, CS Managers must collaborate efficiently with teams such as Product and Sales to create a seamless experience for all. 🧠 Know your customers - Just like a football coach and team study their opponents, CSM's must know their customers. Understanding your clients' needs and behavior will allow you to tailor a journey ideal for them. 🎰 Risks reap rewards - A football team will every once in a while shake up their lineup or tactics to seek reward, and so must a CS Team. To truly grow, you will always need to test out new waters and discover success. Are there any other takeaways and lessons we can learn from the Euros?

How far can your team launch it? 🏈 Teams will choose their best players to test how far (and accurately) they can throw a football in the Protective Life Football Challenge. Each team member will have 5 throws to make it in the target area, with a one-minute time limit. The target area will have multiple scoring zones based on distance and accuracy. All five players’ point totals will be combined to produce a total team score to award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place within each division.
