Day 2 in #Tanzania with #ActionAidHellas: It’s all about hands-on work! The Greek and Cypriot supporters teamed up with locals to provide children with secure, dignified, inclusive, and reliable school Water Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH) brand new services to almost 500 students and teachers. It was incredible to see everyone come together to create this essential infrastructure that will prevent the spread of diseases and promote healthy hygiene practices among children at school, contributing to boosting students’ self-esteem. Grateful for this inspiring collaboration with Actionaid Tanzania and the community spirit! #SolidarityInAction #TanzaniaTrip

This is such an important mission that World Vision is engaged in and one that I am so proud of. The work they do to reach people with lifesaving resources like clean water paints a beautiful picture of what it means to care for our fellow human beings. Lack of access to clean water is such a preventable factor to the poverty level of these communities. When people don’t have access to safe and clean water, they are unable to stay healthy, go to work, or go to school. This lack of access also keeps communities economically stunted and perpetuates the crippling cycle of poverty as so much time throughout the day is spent simply fetching water to survive or recovering from waterborne illnesses. This is the daily reality for 2.2 billion people in the world who still don't have access to this lifesaving resource…. one of the main factors of why nearly 10% of the global population live in poverty - with a disproportionate affect on women and children. Please consider learning more about this important cause and the lifesaving work the wonderful people at World Vision are engaged in. 💧 #WorldWaterDay #waterislife
On #WorldWaterDay, I’m remembering a moment that illustrated the power of clean water access. I joined thousands of people praying, cheering, and dancing with the energy you would see at a football stadium or concert. But this was a community in Rwanda celebrating their access to water. Last year we reached the incredible milestone of equipping everyone, everywhere we work in the country with lasting clean water. But there’s more work to do. Nearly 4,000 people — more than 1,000 of whom are children under 5 — die every day from diseases related to lack of safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. Reaching one new person every 10 seconds with clean water, World Vision is committed to helping solve the global water crisis in our lifetime.

#projectmonday | In the rural areas of Colombia's Choco region, thousands of people live without safe water. While the region is rich in natural water resources, most rural communities do not have the infrastructure for running water. This year, H2O4ALL is breaking new ground in the Choco region of Colombia through a partnership with the Douelos Foundation. We'll be installing safe water systems in remote rural communities around the region, providing abundant safe water and protection from waterborne diseases. Through safe water access, we can empower Choco residents to combat a massive health risk in the area. Since local water sources are often unprotected and unsafe to use, waterborne diseases are often a persistent problem for families in remote areas - a problem made worse by the lack of available medical services in the area. Through safe water access, we can improve the health and quality of life for thousands of people in the Choco region. #safewaterforall #water #waterislife #project #community #health

There is a saying that, the way you raise a child is how they grow with the habit you built for them. EAAW implements this statement in practice by teaching and training children to use plant-based foods. We also insist that the schools where they study to stop feeding the children animal-based foods and instead focus more on plant-based food. To strengthen this matter, we are participating in the Thrive Africa School lunch campaign as important stakeholders in ensuring that we are removing animals in the food systems. #PlantingHealthandSustainableoneveryplate Ayubu Nnko🌱 💚

COWASH IV is a project working on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in rural areas in eight regions of Ethiopia since 2021.
COWASH IV: Promoting WASH in Rural Ethiopia COWASH IV goes beyond WASH infrastructure! The project is committed to empowering rural Ethiopian communities with the knowledge and practices to improve hygiene and sanitation. To achieve this, COWASH IV has developed educational materials including videos, audio messages, and posters – in three local languages: Amharic, Afan Oromo, and Sidamu Afoo. These materials focus on three key areas: 🔹 Improved household latrines 🔹 Proper handwashing techniques 🔹 Safe water handling and treatment To maximize reach, COWASH IV is collaborating with regional partners to broadcast these messages through radio and TV channels. Additionally, posters, audio clips, and videos are being distributed to schools, health centers, and community leaders for further dissemination. Today, we are spotlighting CPAR’s program area that ensures clean water & hygiene for all: Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). Here's how we're making a difference - Clean Water Access: Installing rainwater harvesting tanks in schools, providing safe water sources for thousands of students through the Green Schools Network project in Malawi. Sanitation Solutions: Open defecation is a major health concern, but CPAR tackled it head-on in the Khongoni area of Malawi. Through education, improved latrine construction, and partnership with health clinics, strides were made towards a healthier, ODF community. Hygiene Education: In response to COVID-19, CPAR swiftly acted to equip 15 schools in the Karatu District with essential hygiene facilities. From 'tippy taps' to sanitizer distribution, we’re ensuring over 10,000 students stay safe and healthy. Together, we are creating a world where everyone has access to clean water and sanitation. #CPAR #IDW2024 #GoForTheGoals #WASH #CleanWater #Hygiene #CommunityDevelopment
