The first steering committee meeting marks the kick-off of a new stage of preparation for the Touchpoint Sustainability at drupa – no. 1 for printing technologies. 🌱 Following the conception and acquisition phase, mainly focusing on the booth design and the approaching of potential exhibitors, the implementation of the company-independent sustainability forum is now on the agenda. Almost 30 well-known companies and exhibitors are now on board to showcase a wide range of best practice solutions, demonstrating what the industry has already achieved in the sustainable transformation of the sector and what it can offer customers. One of the key messages in that context: sustainable processes have become economically viable, as they increase resource efficiency in various areas and maintain or even increase brand values. 📈 At yesterday’s first steering committee meeting – hosted by Thomas Schiemann and his team – all co-exhibitors of the Touchpoint Sustainability came together virtually to get an update on the current status and to discuss common expectations and goals. During the exchange between the participants, the concept, the communication and the implementation of the project were praised in particular. All participants are looking forward to the trade fair and to present their contribution to the topic in this forum. Everyone is looking forward to the feedback from visitors. 🎯 The individual showcases of all co-exhibitors are currently being designed and the extensive stage program for all 11 days of the trade fair is coming together. 👉 Stay tuned for further updates in the coming weeks and save the date for drupa! Looking forward to meet you at Touchpoint Sustainability from 📆 May 28 – June 7, 2024. #drupa #drupa2024 #PrintingTechnologies #PrintIndustry #PaperTechnology #TradeFair #Sustainability #VDMA Lisa Raphaela Grübl Laura Braun

The world’s first Public 3D-printer? 3D-printing is amazing. It can be fun, it can be educational and it can be super useful. Regardless if you use it for fun, printing toys, useful prototyping or as a manufacturing technique, 3D-printing is a very powerful and almost magical tool. It is a freedom tool and a great equalizer that gives teenagers, small start-ups and big companies a more equal chance to, in a very short amount of time, realize an idea. 3D-printing is perhaps one of the most important tool for mankind going forward. Sustainability in the form of both enabling local production, but also from a design standpoint with material optimization etc. Freedom and independently, by lowering the threshold of getting an idea for an actual product, or the opportunity to have a product and produce it on your own. Getting good ideas quicker to market. Innovation is the most important skill we as a mankind have, and we can't afford to be wasteful of creativity and innovation. This is the reason why I have created this new project. We want 3D-printing to be more accessible to the creative minds of ours, and give the opportunity to not letting good ideas be wasted. I hope you appreciate this new project. I have named it ”3Demandic”, and hope that my small contribution perhaps can help someone take the next step, creating a product or doing something similar. If you have an idea you want to test out, now is the time! Don’t hesitate, take action. You have nothing to lose, but all to win! Btw, please, share, like and comment. This is a pilot project and all input is welcome!

Join us at Breakbulk Europe 2024, where Royal3D is setting a new benchmark in sustainable transport solutions for the offshore sector. As the industry convenes from May 21-24 in Rotterdam, we're showcasing how our innovative 3D printed transport cradles are revolutionizing the way oversized and heavy cargo is managed. At Royal3D, we've recognized the pressing need for eco-friendly practices within the breakbulk handling space. Our cutting-edge, 100% recyclable cradles and supports exemplify this commitment. Unlike traditional wooden and steel supports that often end up as waste after limited use, our tailored designs offer a sustainable and efficient alternative without compromising on durability and safety. Our products are engineered to absorb shocks effectively, ensuring maximum protection across all modes of transportation. What sets us apart is the lifecycle of our cradles: post-use, they can be returned to us for recycling. This process not only reduces waste but also contributes to a circular economy by reusing materials in future prints. Fulko Roos, CEO of Royal3D, emphasizes, "Sustainability isn't just an option; it's an imperative that drives every innovation at Royal3D." We're proud to lead by example in creating environmentally responsible products that meet the rigorous demands of the maritime industry. As attendees gather to discuss trends and challenges at Breakbulk Europe 2024, Royal3D stands at the forefront of providing practical solutions that don't merely mitigate environmental impact, but redefine industry standards. Welcome to the August issue of „Opakowanie” magazine! The summer holidays are almost over and the industry is already preparing for the autumn revival. The time for trade fairs is coming up, with Labelexpo Europe at helm of them. The world's largest event aimed at the label and packaging printing industry has a special character this year. Firstly, it has been four years since the last edition (usually being held every two years). This is the result of the coronavirus pandemic, obviously, followed by the outbreak of war in Ukraine and the supply chains' disruptions caused by, among others, the strike at UPM Raflatac. Secondly, it will be the fair's official farewell to the Belgian capital and its Brussels Expo exhibition grounds, which have hosted Labelexpo Europe since 1985. The Tarsus Group, organiser of the Labelexpo Global Series events, has announced that the Barcelona Fira Exhibition Centre will take Brussels' place as host in 2025. In August issue we preview Labelexpo Europe 2023 and present the range of products that the world's big players will bring to Brussels. On our pages you will also find the bunch of interesting events and news from the industry; we write, among other things, about the installation of Xeikon CX300 in the Polish branch of the Reynders printing house; the heads of Viking Graf and Natalia printing houses tell us about developments and the market situation, a well-known industry expert explains the reason for the growing demand for hybrid machines.... and this is just a small selection of interesting content you will find in our pages. Have a good reading! #labelexpo #labels #labelproduction #packaging #packagingprintingproduction #packagingproduction

NEWS: #LabelexpoEurope 2023 closed yesterday, drawing a line under the trade fair’s tenure in Brussels. The Spanish city of Barcelona will host the next event in 2025. While official statistics are yet to be announced by organiser Tarsus, the impression gained by FlexoTech during its attendance throughout the four-day exhibition, was of an event that was satisfying, if not spectacular, in its visitor levels. With the 2021 show having been cancelled due to COVID, there was certainly a buzz in the aisles of the Brussels Expo centre. More than 600 companies exhibited at Labelexpo 2023, many showing new or recently launched technology for the first time. One program that was announced was by FINAT, the European #label association, which launched its Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) Initiative, designed to give guidance to the label industry on the growing market demand for Product Carbon Footprint data. The first step – launched at Labelexpo Europe – is a brochure and animated video to explain the basics of PCF and LCA. https://lnkd.in/e4NjenWT

MachinePoint Consultants reflects on growth and success at #Drupa 2024 Recently, our team visited the #Drupa trade fair in Düsseldorf, and the reflections of our plastics division director, Marco Marchiorello, offer a comprehensive overview of the event. #Drupa is a trade fair that impresses with its high level of international participation. According to official data, 80% of the visitors were international, with representatives from 174 countries. This record demonstrates Drupa’s global appeal as the epicenter of innovation in the #printing industry. Asia emerged as the most represented region after #Europe, with an impressive 22% participation, followed by the #Americas with 12%. This global focus not only shows the diversity of Drupa’s audience but also highlights the growth potential in key markets such as #Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East and North Africa region. For the MachinePoint Consultants team, this geographical diversity represents an opportunity to expand our reach and establish strategic connections in emerging markets. This was especially beneficial for new members like Satur, who took the opportunity to network with representatives from the Latin American market present at the fair. In terms of trends, Marco Marchiorello noticed a growing interest in digital and #flexo printing, with a clear focus on speed, quality, and #sustainability. The latter point is especially relevant at a time when sustainability has become a global priority. Manufacturers are responding with innovative solutions that reduce waste and promote more eco-friendly practices. Companies like #COMEXI and #UTECO showcased their latest innovations in more sustainable digital and flexo machines. It is exciting to see how #MachinePoint has gained recognition in recent years. Marco reflected on how, a decade ago, we were relatively unknown, but now we are seen as leaders in used machinery. This recognition is the result of years of dedication and hard work by our entire team, and we are proud to be considered a reliable partner by manufacturers around the world. Marco highlights the positive results achieved and acknowledges the exceptional work done by the entire MachinePoint team that was by his side: Mélissa Mahdjoub, Franjo Vrban, Marcos C. Niederhauser, and Satur Mejía. We are already looking forward to what the next edition in 2028 will bring! #MachinePoint #UsedMachinery #Drupa #TradeShow #Innovation #Sustainability #PrintingIndustry #GlobalMarkets #EmergingMarkets #DigitalFlexography #EcoFriendly #TradeFair #IndustryTrends #MarketExpansion #Networking #MachinePointSuccess

After a 4 year break, Labelexpo 2023 in Brussels was interesting, to say the least. Some of my thoughts... Crazy numbers: 637 exhibitors from 138 countries attracted 35,889 attendees... That makes it crystal clear the sector is not just growing, but thriving with innovation and hunger for advancement. I'm happy to be part of it. The #digitaltransformation train may have been delayed a bit versus other sectors but it's now steaming ahead full throttle. The next stop is Barcelona! That's right, we are heading to the land of tapas and Gaudí (my home city). ...no wonder 96% of exhibitors rebooked for 2025, it seems everyone's keen to say 'Hola' to Barcelona. Visitor stats: Germany, Italy, and France are leading. This highlights the strategic importance of the European market as a central hub for label printing technology. It's a clear signal of strategic investments made and an indicator that maybe the #reindustrialisation of Europe is not just a fancy term... we hope! Lesson: Businesses should focus their efforts where the market is most vibrant. The "hottest" 4 areas in the sector are clearly - flexible packaging - sustainability - digitization - automation with over 250 product launches, including the Memjet Technology -based DuraFlex hybrid machine by Arrow Systems, Inc. and Katun EAME which ticks all 4 hot boxes. Shoutout to Shaan Patel for this! The transformation towards eco-friendly water-based inks, digitalization, and automation is clear and gives you a hint about some of the industry's direction. The Green Revolution: As we double down on R&D, staying ahead in the sustainability race is not just good karma—it's smart business. Eco-friendly is no longer the cherry on the cake; it's the main ingredient. 🔮 Looking Ahead: As we gear up for #Labelexpo2025 Barcelona, I encourage you my friend to reflect on these trends and start preparing today. But before that, there is FuturePrint by Frazer Chesterman in Valencia in February and then #drupa so 2024 looks to be a busy year ahead. Were you at the Labelexpo show? Did I miss anything interesting? Add your thoughts to the comments, I'll see you below #LabelPrinting #FutureTrends #BusinessStrategy #SustainablePrinting #Labelexpo2025 #labelprinting #labels #label 👀 P.S. If you're into labels, give Labels & Labeling a follow. It's the insider's guide you won't want to miss. Credit for the inspiration of this post and the infographic goes to them
