Members of our team recently paid a visit to the project site for Garlington Warehouse, off Woodruff Road, to observe and participate in an exciting two-step building style called "tiltwalls" or "tilt-up construction." Here's how it works! First, slabs of concrete, which most often comprise load-bearing sections of a building envelope or elevation, are cast horizontally on a concrete slab-on-ground. The slabs are then lifted (tilted) with a crane after the concrete has reached sufficient strength.
