As I celebrate my 11 year anniversary at ITA Group, Inc. today, I’m thinking about two recent instances where our 11 year old daughter was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up and her reply was “Sales, I want to be an Account Executive.” (Cue the big smile from me!) I told some of my colleagues this and they were amazed that someone so young wanted to be in sales or do what I do. I do have moments where I feel like this type of amazing career is a bit of a secret. It made me wonder if kids know how great a career in sales can be, if they know what is needed to be successful and the benefits? Here are 11 thoughts (please add to the list), and here’s also a picture of “back in the early days” when my daughter pulled up a chair, desk, and computer to help me with my work. 1. Rewards outweigh the risks (creates wealth in a number of ways) 2. Relationships, results for clients, being of service 3. Leadership and expertise 4. Confidence, passion, and grit 5. Problem solving, consultative 6. “Get oxygen” from those big wins and great meetings 7. Strong communicator and sense of humor 8. Solution selling, each client is different 9. Both individual and team success 10. Quick with numbers, handling objections 11. Recognition and rewards as a Top Perfomer (financially and opportunity to travel the world) *Start ‘em young! If you love what you do, they will want to do that too!

Comment below! 👇 What was one of your biggest achievements in your professional career? I’ll start…… When I first joined Konecranes, my team felt like it was us against the world. I was faced with a few statements that I was determined to prove wrong. 1. "You'll have pretty high turnover with this group; you'll be lucky to last a year as well." 2. "This area never gets over $X amount a year in revenue." 3. "This group never takes part in the annual Christmas dinner. Maybe 2-3 techs will show up, but that's it." After my first 2 years, we only had 1 person leave, and that was because they were moving to another state. In the first 3 years, we increased our revenue by 21-35% and never fell below the initial threshold that we were told we would never exceed. But the greatest accomplishment I believe I achieved was our first Christmas party after my first full year. Every single tech we had and their families showed up to our dinner, Over 25 individuals! Through servant leadership, deliberate actions to take care of my people, sticking my neck out for them when they might not have deserved it, and a strong will to see them succeed, I fostered an environment where they felt cared for and appreciated. To me, that's worth more than revenue. That’s my greatest achievement.

Today marks my 🔟 anniversary at Exadel 🎉 This is a good time to reflect on why I am still here, even though sometimes I feel the urge for change. In these moments, I ask myself the following questions: - Do the company's values still match my own? - Is the company still growing? - Does my contribution still bring significant value to the company? - Does the company appreciate what I do? - Am I surrounded by professionals at a higher level that I can aspire to? - Are there people who benefit from my experience and expertise? - Is there a supportive environment here that believes in me? - Can I continue to gain new experiences here? - By working in this company, do I become stronger and more skilled both as a professional and as a person? And year after year, I get a "YES" to all these most important questions. Of course, like any company, there are challenges here, but they do not overshadow the benefits I see for my professional and personal growth. I am grateful for these 10 years and look forward to the future with optimism, expecting new opportunities and achievements 👐

Celebrating My 2nd Anniversary at Avon Medical Practice Limited Today marks a significant milestone in my career—two years at Avon Medical Practice Limited. Reflecting on this journey, I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and challenges I’ve encountered. Here are the key lessons I’ve learned along the way: God First: Make God your pillar. Be thankful for every moment, whether good or challenging. Seek His guidance before embarking on any assignment, familiar or not. Trusting in Him has been a constant source of strength for me. Observe and Digest Before Acting: This principle has made my journey smoother. As a leader, it’s crucial not to rush decisions. Take time to think through the potential consequences. It’s perfectly fine to say, "Let me get back to you on this," when you’re uncertain. Taking a moment to reflect doesn’t show weakness but wisdom. Continuous Learning and Wealth of Experience: I have learned immensely from my colleagues, both within my field and in related areas. Brainstorming sessions have often pushed me back to the drawing board, sparking growth and new ideas. The Internal Audit Community of Practice at the Group level has been instrumental in enhancing my knowledge and skills. Lastly, step outside your comfort zone. Success often lies beyond familiar territory. While venturing into the unknown may be daunting at first, it leads to growth and improvement. I recently made a mistake when celebrating a great month in our company.  We blew away our goal and I wanted to recognize our team. Instead of just congratulating our team for their great accomplishment, I threw in the dreaded "but" at the end of it. "but, next month will most likely be much different." There was no need for me to do this.  I intended to shield them from a possible letdown the following month since we always have a strong January. The "but" was not necessary at that time (and probably not at all). Celebrate your wins.  Recognize the success of your team - the other stuff can wait. A well-informed team already knows of the challenges that may lie ahead and is prepared to handle them. Let celebrating your wins stand on its own.  Do not dilute what your team accomplished. Interestingly, February came and they beat our target for that month as well.....and did it again in March.
