🆕 A new survey, conducted on behalf MIDEA Group, reveals that more than half of homeowners in the USA are not fully aware of heat pumps and their function and therefore have not considered the purchase. 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀, 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁? Further highlights from this survey show that: ▪ 80% of homeowners claim to know what a heat pump is despite over half (54%) being unsure or unknowledgeable about its full capabilities, particularly its ability to provide both heating and cooling. ▪ Just 4% of homeowners are aware of a modern heat pump's ability to maintain 100% heat output at temperatures as low as -4°F. ▪ Nearly half of homeowners (49%) indicate that the main reason they would be hesitant to switch to a heat pump is because they don't know anything about it. ▪ 70% of contractors indicate they do not know that today's advanced heat pumps are able to generate 100% heat output to a minimum temperature of -4°F. ▪ 87% of contractors even say they would be more likely to consider switching to a heat pump in their own homes after learning more about the performance and cost-saving benefits of modern heat pumps. #HVAC #HVACR #HeatPumps #Education #Heating #Technology #Innovation #Sustainability

Wow. This Consumer Report on heat pumps has fantastic information all in one place, including buying guides, ratings, state-by-state fact sheets and cautions. Best part? Most of us will save money: "Homes that heat with propane, oil, or “regular” electric-resistance systems are the most likely to save money by installing a heat pump. Propane and oil are always expensive (even when we aren’t in the midst of a massive price spike). And electric resistance heating uses an average of two-and-a-half to three times as much electricity as a heat pump does to produce the same amount of heat. So in many parts of the country, you could save more than $1,000 per year on your heating bills by switching to a heat pump. The DOE has some state-by-state fact sheets that can give you an idea of how much you might save per year. You may also be eligible for subsidies or tax incentives that shrink the costs of heat pumps even further. Many states and utility companies offer rebates for heat pumps." Don't forget that heat pumps also provide cooling, so you won't need an air conditioner. https://lnkd.in/gqcGMgSQ
