Crafts can be a fun way to boost fine motor skills of young children. That’s why the team of pediatric occupational and speech therapists at our subsidiary, North Coast Therapy Associates, is offering a Craft Camp this summer. Designed specifically for 4 to 6 year olds, the weekly one-hour camp will use themed craft projects to strengthen coloring, cutting, and pasting skills. Learn more about the Thursday 12pm to 1pm camp that runs July 11th to August 15th: https://bit.ly/4cpFth4 #SummerCamps2024 #CraftsForKids

New: Liliane Savard and Caitlin Allan of the UVM Autism Collaborative summarize research on a medical home transition model for autistic adults, located in a healthcare setting. They describe the evaluation and evolution of the Center for Autism Services and Transition (CAST) model. The research looked at a focus group and a chart review of autistic patients who visited the CAST clinic between 2014 and 2015. The focus group of 10 autistic young adults aged 18 to 30 identified main problems and potential solutions to help with visits to a primary care clinic for adults. Some of the most important problems were sensitivities to sound, light and touch, and anxiety being in the waiting room. Read the full research summary here: https://lnkd.in/epAg2zHu It's available as a Word doc (.docx), in .pdf format, and in audio format. All of them in plain language. The CDCI's Recommended Research series provides plain-language summaries of current research in disability. #AccessibleResearch #PlainLanguage #DisabilityResearch
