Language consultant, a linguist and a passionate advocate for bilingualism / multilingualism, specialising in (family) language planning and acquisition
There’s incredible power in learning through play and the magic ingredient is: enjoyment and engagement, aka Fun! Contrary to what many parents believe - that if it’s proper learning, it needs to be more of a serious sit-down kind of deal. The activities a child loves are the perfect opportunities to also sprinkle in some language practice without them even realising it. It’s a powerful catalyst not only for language learning and acquisition but also for learning to befriend and deal with mistakes. It fosters a positive outlook on language.
Frederich Frobel (1782 – 1852) was a German educator credited with founding kindergarten and the idea of learning through play. He found that children need real-life, hands-on experiences to learn. Looking for more inspiration? Head to https://bit.ly/3nWu8S6

Grateful to have been part of last year's Future Fwd conference. As I mentioned, it's crucial to embrace different routes to success and equip young people with the tools they need. Let's continue to challenge the notion of 'traditional' and foster environments where every young person feels empowered to explore and thrive. 🌟 #FutureFwd #YouthEmpowerment #EducationForAll"
Often, pupils may feel that they have to go down the 'traditional' route in order to achieve perceived success once they leave school. However, there are an increasing number of available routes that students can go down, and it is up to us as educationalists to ensure that we give each and every young person the tools to succeed, no matter which route they choose. This message was echoed by Bajabulile Darryl Bhebhe from Youth 2 Adulthood at last year's conference: 🚪 Be open to different avenues to give yourself the opportunity to expand and grow. 💪 Listen to his thoughts below 👇 Sign up for this year’s conference and open a new door! ⏩ https://lnkd.in/eniKkxDM
