This Saturday, AcePLP will host a Built Environment Career Day to raise awareness about #BEcareers, exploring in particular the Digital Delivery Management track, which transforms industry practices and processes.
I am grateful to industry colleagues Dr Ho Pin Teo, Ryan Liew and Andrew Ho for being a part of this event and contributing their time, #BIM datasets, technology and knowledge to support this mission. AcePLP’s IFC specialist Mohammad Haziq will explain the importance of data in transforming work processes within our #builtenvironment.
As part of our programme, we take participants on a tour of the BCA Braddell Campus, with help from a supportive team at Building and Construction Authority. This tour showcases the adoption of advanced technologies and energy-efficient solutions at the newer Blocks D and E of the campus, including the use of:
Mass Engineered Timber in the construction of Block E as a Zero-Energy mid-rise building, which achieves up to 80% manpower savings at the project level through off-site prefabrication
Passive Displacement Ventilation, which achieves up to 86% aircon fan energy savings with the use of chilled-water cooling coils to create air circulation via natural convection, and
Mixed Mode Ventilation, where an integrated control solution is adopted to enhance thermal comfort and improve energy efficiency
Our built environment is being transformed through the adoption of innovative methods, solutions, and technology. There is a myriad of #careeropportunities as traditional roles are being reshaped with #digitaltransformation, which we explore at AcePLP Career Day.
